Bloody hell. Brave woman

CountessDracula · 07/04/2004 11:21

How incredible. I wonder if she had done it to someone else previously ie how did she know where to cut?

coppertop · 07/04/2004 11:22

OMG!!! I feel queasy just reading about it.

dinosaur · 07/04/2004 11:23

Wow...I hope she makes a full recovery.

Kayleigh · 07/04/2004 11:23

Oh my god.

wilbur · 07/04/2004 11:24

How amazing and how wonderful they both survived! I was very impressed with the Antartic scientist who gave herself a biopsy on a breast lump, but this story takes the prize.

Blu · 07/04/2004 11:24

One for the Discussion on Maternity Services thread, I think!!!!

(I have a friend who, having fallen off a stage dancing while drunk in a club, decided she was too drunk to drive to A&E - and so stitched her own leg!!!!! She is a midwife. ) (has had a change of career since then - don't panic, she won't be in a labour ward near you!)(but she was a FAB midwife)

That is incredible.

I remember the woman who gave birth in a tree in the floods in Bangladesh (?) but this is even more amazing.

Hulababy · 07/04/2004 12:22

OMG!!! I am shuddering to think of it. But wow, what a brave decision to make. Extraordinary!!!

frogs · 07/04/2004 13:34

I like the reassuring bit at the end about how nowhere in Britain is that remote from medical care. Just in case you were tempted -- don't try this at home, girls!

WSM · 07/04/2004 13:40

Holy F*CK ! What an extraordinary thing to do

treacletart · 07/04/2004 19:54

Paula71 · 07/04/2004 23:11

Ouch indeed! Makes my eyes water just thinking about it!

nightowl · 08/04/2004 01:41

OMG Noooooo! swoon. (dull thud as owl hits the floor).

kid · 08/04/2004 15:27

OMG, That poor woman. She must be crazy. I've had 2 c-sections (both done in the hospital I should add!) and they were painful enough. Well I won't be trying that at home!

suzywong · 08/04/2004 15:34

bunny2 · 08/04/2004 19:50

Blimey! What an incredible story. Wonder if I could do the same (doubt it).

timeforbed · 08/04/2004 20:07

Is this not a very sad story. In 2004 women's reproductive health is still not a priority in some countries.
