according to Yahoo. Seriously ill and in hospital. Find it hard to be too sympathetic if he is guilty as charged

na, let the bastard die. if prison was a terrible place to be then I'd say let him suffer, but he'll no doubt have a tv, probably access to study materials, he'll be out in maybe 15 years? he's an oxygen thief, and if he tops himself then maybe there's something on the other side that'll make him pay anyway.

orangegiraffe · 05/09/2006 15:36

Let the sick fucker die

Mum2FunkyDude · 05/09/2006 15:38

FFS He's costing us millions to keep him alive...let him succeed in his next attempt.

Steppy1 · 05/09/2006 15:40

...with you orangegiraffe...and hope there IS some justice on the other side...maybe those little girls could be there to meet him !!!!!

YellowFeathers · 05/09/2006 15:41

I can't decide if its a good or a bad thing. If he finds prison so bad and is that miserable then keep him alive in my mind.
On the other hand, I dread to think how much it costs to keep him alive in there and he will no doubt have tv and other such luxuries.

Flossam · 05/09/2006 15:46

How could we just let him die though? Quite simply in this country he still has human rights - and the prisons would be wide open to being sued by loving family (does he have any? has he ever had any?) for willful neglect. Saying that he should be left tio die just isn't feasible. he dosen't really want to die. We had a patient recently who did similar repeatedly - he loved the attention and the chance to escape the prison. the lengths these people will go to are amazing. More often or not in normal cases of attempted suicide they are a cry for help. He is a sick man and deserves nothing other than to rot in jail. Yes he is costing the state money - that is the nature of punishment in this (civilised) country.

SewingMadMummy · 05/09/2006 15:50

I'm quite glad they have pumped his stomach - at least then he will have to go back to prison and not be able to take the "get out clause" that death appears to him, after all there is no get out for Holly and Jessica's parents - they will suffer the loss of those sweet little girls forever but I do agree with you ladies that he is an unnecessary waste of time money and resources on both the prison system and our valuable health care facilities.

DollyP · 05/09/2006 20:11

I agree with the posters who want him alive and incarcerated for ever. Give him time to reflect on the evil inside him. He should not be allowed the luxury of deciding when he wants out.

Incidentally, why don't they give suicidal prisoners liquid medicine? Would be much harder to stash a load if they were seen to take and swallow it? Just a thought.

DollyP · 05/09/2006 20:13

Incidentally, whilse he will of course be "Looked after" in hospital, I don't think any sympathy will be coming his way from the medical profession. They are usually very harsh on people who have attempted suicide. Esp so in the case of someone like him, I should imagine.

Beauregard · 05/09/2006 20:16

Oh what a shame it didn't work but then that would be too easy on the filth that he is ,why waste nhs resources on him?

Beauregard · 05/09/2006 20:18

Curious to know Dollyp why you think that 'they'are harsh with anyone who attempts suicide ?
Would they not have any sympathy for normal decent but very desperate people?

mrsdarcy · 05/09/2006 21:09

I'm surprised at the Daily Mail style ranting on this thread. Whilst he is, quite rightly, reviled for the terrible things he did, a civilised society must show that it respects human life.

Hope he's in prison forever, reviled and abused by the other prisoners. Just worried that he might be allowed out sometime in the distant future....

kimi · 05/09/2006 22:45

too bad it did not work, still my sister (has cancer) has a fair few morphin tabs im sure she would be happy to post him some to finish the job.

bundle · 06/09/2006 17:10

Huntley is being taken back to the healthcare wing at Wakefield prison
