\link{http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/apr/29/amanda-knox-fatal-wound-meredith-kercher-court\Guardian report}

"It is a matter of fact that at a certain point in the evening events accelerated. The English girl was attacked by Amanda Marie Knox, by Raffaele Sollecito, who was backing up his girlfriend, and by Rudi Hermann Guede, and constrained within her own room,"

Fact???

The report in the DM includes the same quote as the Guardian but also says:

"The court said there was ample evidence of a bad relationship between the two roommates, despite Knox's attempts to play down differences in court.
It cited statements by Guede under police questioning that Kercher had blamed Knox for taking money from the British student's room"

But at the start, & for months after his arrest, Guede said that AK & RS weren't there that night - didn't he?

Floraclare if you are genuinely interested in the answers to your questions and on the DNA results then please do read the official court documents, the interview transcripts, the articles written by academics (statisticians and DNA specialists) on the veracity of all the DNA results.
I realise I'm probably fortunate in that I know scientists who work in these fields but even so there are still numerous documents available that are written by qualified professionals that will address your questions.

Thanks BookABooSue, but I already have, which is why I'm aware of what a huge miscarriage of justice this is - and incredibly anti-science. The independent scientists who looked at the evidence, found it severely lacking in all areas

Nina Burleigh talks a lot of sense - it is not about whether the Italian justice system is flawed, but it is about a miscarriage of justice, which can occur anywhere in the world
