It must be bad enough any time of year but it's awful that their Christmases have been ruined.

I just hope they can get back to relative normality soon?

It's frustrating knowing there's nothing we can do, afaik?

When the people responsible for the power won't listen you go up a level and as "man of the people" dave was there for a photo shoot why shouldn't she have a go?

I flooded and had no power from 23 Dec. can't tell you have relieved to get it back.

Dread to think how long the drying out will take, but we are lucky that we were only flooded with rain/surface water. No sewer overflow and no river water, so no mud. Trying to be thankful for small mercies.

It is soooooo dull having no power, it gets too dark to do anything from about 4pm, then there's the radio & that's it - no books, no tv, no computer, no phones. So boring.

We've got a flood barrier but it didn't save us - they opened it to stop it from bursting - so many new houses have gone up in the last 10 years or so - all built on the flood plain, I just don't understand why. It will keep happening here unless they either build a bigger barrier or divert the river somehow. That all costs money though so highly unlikely to happen.

Having read a couple of articles I'd be very angry too and lashing out at anyone who patronised me - they were left to cope with no help from anyone in authority. We had the same locally. Then Dave turns up along with the first signs of the police and the council. Where was everyone when they needed them?
