Have all the bad people in England moved to Oxford?

In recent months Oxford seems to have more than its fair share of horrors involving teenage girls. Has anything happened to Oxford recently? I've always thought of it as a university city. But it seems to be fast developing a reputation for being the heart of the badlands.

Oxfordshire as a county has a population mix, much like any other. However, the gulf between wealth and poverty there is huge, and there are pockets of extreme deprivation.

The "bad" side of the county seems to have been very much airbrushed out of the media. I don't think things there are any wore than they've ever been, but it's only now making its way into the media.

Hi,

We're just letting you know that we've moved this into 'in the news'.

If you are talking about the missing teenager she is actually from Didcot which is a town about 13 miles south of Oxford. And to answer your question - no. It's just for some reason some people seem to think nothing bad can happen here and are therefore surprised when it does and therefore sticks in people's minds more.

I think the strapline is pretty silly, but I was wondering something along these lines, when the case of the girl who died in an Oxford park from a drugs overdose came up again, as her mother has written what looks like a heart wrenching book about the aftermath. I was interested as I have nieces of the same age in Oxford, at the same school. The news reports talk about the town being flooded with these MDMA drugs. Is that so? And is that just normal for all towns these days?
