In defence of Heather Mills

Please lets set up some kind of corrective to all the spite and venom that is directed at her. I've just read a piece in The Mail which has left me feeling violated it was so insidious and nasty.

The last person I remember being this targeted by the media was Maxine Carr - it's just insane!

I for one hope they can both sort this out and wish the press would leave them alone to do it.

All the bile poured at H Mills is a bit unpleasant and misogynistic. Usually when someone is treated like that it's because journalists know more than they can print (they kept a lot of stuff quiet when she was married to Macca as she was protected) and/or because the person has treated them like shit. A nasty, up themselves celeb usually gets their comeuppance. Not saying that's morally right or anything, just how the game is played.

There is a wonderfully nasty piece on HMM today in .....guess what the Mail....the bloke who done the pics for the love book.......it's sheer & utter fantasy as there is no way he could remember, it's about 15 years ago.

I think it's more that she doesn't like them and makes no bones about it Edam. Not like the Paul Daniels/Debbie McGee debacle

I thought the Barbara Ellen piece hilarious and I tend to agree. It's the hair Ms Mills is probably emabarassed about in those photos, not the porn

She is suing! Good for her. The press complaints commision is a joke though.

I haven't read any debates on MN about HM, due to pc being out of order. However i am very glad MT that you have started this thread, how easy it is to judge someone for past mistakes. IIRC HM had a pretty tough childhood and was living rough yet managed to pull herself out of the gutter through modelling, ok some of it is a bit smutty, but what about media darlings such as Jordan who has done far worse. OK so jordan has always been proud of her background, but lets face it she hasn't had the worlwide scrutiny of HM. FWIW I'm not too keen on her but i hate the double standards the media employ. She took her clothes off a few times, so what she made these choices at a time in her life which was pretty desperate. It sickens me to the stomach to see the kind of bile spouted by the press

Wasn't she reported to be planning to sue recently, about untrue reports of her marriage breakdown?

Yes Bub. She said she's waiting till after the divorce is settled though.
