One of two rulings expected today on gay marriage. 5 - 4 decision split along the normal liberal/conservative division with Kennedy swinging it and writing the decision.

Hmm. Website has changed the article at the link above to one reporting that Prop 8 has been struck down. Yeah! Though they've only ruled that those who appealed the Californian court case had no standing, they haven't actually backed the idea prop 8 was unconstitutional. The ruling was 5 - 4 again, not the usual split, but the dissenters were contesting the question that the court addressed (i.e. they thought the court should have looked at the constitutionality of Prop 8, not the standing of those who had the Californian unconstitutionality ruling overturned).
