Don't you just wish she were your mate Grin

Hey, maybe she'll become an mner now?? hahahahaha

cupcakes · 23/05/2006 14:32

"There's a good reason I picked Madonna as a middle name, too. As she came out of my tummy, Bluebell had both arms flung wide in the air as if announcing to the world, 'Hi! I'm here!'

"She was screaming her head off, as though she was shouting, 'Hello Wembley!' No one else has that name, apart from the Virgin Madonna and the singer, whom I love."

sazzlelou · 23/05/2006 14:33

Thanks.
Hmmm...not sure.
Don't most babies come out as if they're screaming at wembley Grin

Caligula · 23/05/2006 14:33

I like Madonna.

The name I mean, not the stringy ole bird

megglevache · 23/05/2006 14:34

Gawd!
Didn't a soap actress have a little girl called bluebell?
I quite liked Stella.

HappyMumof2 · 23/05/2006 14:34

that's what I was thinking sazzlelou.

Most of our babies came out screaming - not many of us would name them Madonna.........

HappyMumof2 · 23/05/2006 14:35

Kasey Ainsworth's dd is called Blossom. I think she was going to call her Bluebell though......

JoolsToo · 23/05/2006 14:35

what is it with 'celebrities'?
do you think Geraldine would have preferred to be called Bluebell? I doubt it.

They have no regard for a child growing up with daft names, more interested in grabbing a headline.

Poor old Zowie Bowie changed his name as soon as he could!

Ulysees · 23/05/2006 14:35

I like the stringy old bird's music and the fact she's a genius but I wish she's stop it with the leotards already!! Angry

Poor old Gerri how will she cope with a newborn eh? Wink

hotmama · 23/05/2006 14:36

I suppose if people have Poppy, Daisy etc then why not Bluebell - a bit strange imo but quite sweet as well. Smile

HappyMumof2 · 23/05/2006 14:36

nice name, just not in combination with the other two.

(can't get give a dog a bone out of my head now.......) Blush

stitch · 23/05/2006 14:46

reminds me of the charmed ones

MagicGenie · 23/05/2006 14:54

Agree with HMo2, nice name in itself but not with that surname.

Bluebell Halliwell.

Bluebell Halliwell.

Bluebell Halliwell.

Nope....still doesn't go.

Norah · 23/05/2006 14:57

Ahhhhh - I like it !!

Nice to have a different name - and as someone said no worse than Poppy, Daisy, Rose etc - at least it's not Tinkerbell (a la Emmerdale !)

No-one uses middle names anyway - so she'll end up as Blue (cool !) or Bell - could be worse !

Apple is much worse !

Callisto · 23/05/2006 14:57

Well I think all flower names are pretty and appropriate for any little girl. It will probably be shortened to Blue or Bell and Bluebell Halliwell has quite a musical ring to it.

wilbur · 23/05/2006 14:58

Blue is cool, like Joni Mitchell song, Little Blue.

Callisto · 23/05/2006 14:58

Oh God, Apple strikes me as being one of the most stupid and annoying names ever.

Piffle · 23/05/2006 14:59

Well then argue for Clematis and Aspidistra and Gladioli then Grin

OP posts:
bundle · 23/05/2006 15:03

I wouldn't have chosen it, and for me there's one too many syllables in her surname for it to "work" but it could have been a lot worse...

Norah · 23/05/2006 15:05

Oy Piffle - don't nick my dd's names !

JanH · 23/05/2006 15:06

Stella Halliwell wouldn't have gone very well either - surnames beginning with H don't go smoothly with names ending in A (poor DD1 has one!)

noddyholder · 23/05/2006 15:06

Like Bluebell very pretty name Not sure about madonna though

Norah · 23/05/2006 15:08

Thing is if she's called her something normal like Helen Halliwell, Jane Halliwell, Clare Halliwell - we'd all be going "oh that's so boring why didn't she call her something more interesting !" - can't do right for doing wrong methinks !

MrsBadger · 23/05/2006 15:14

oh thanks hunker - I've got 'with a Bluebell Halliwell, give a dog a bone, this old man came rolling home' now too!

Think Bella as a shortening is v pretty, but still wouldn't have chosen it to go with Halliwell.
