I'm quite new to mumsnet but I have been following this debate on various threads and I have to say I am a bit miffed at the attitudes of some posters..
The impression of mumsnet I had when first started reading threads of intrest to me was that Mumsnetters were people to trust but from reading the gf threads makes me wonder if some people just love a to cause upset....

don't understand that post at all .. what are you miffed at? that a large number of people found this particular method of babycare advice to not work for them or be in keeping with their parental philosophies? Or that mumsnetters react badly to threads of litigation?

Good that the link between that quote, and what has been going on here at Mumsnet, has been made in the public domain. I hope it gets picked up and run with, frankly.

twiglett I am miffed at the 'ganging-up nature' and at the attitudes of some posters who, although might have an opinion on a matter that is worth hearing, seem to enjoy a good bitching session. (I was also reading a thread last night that was deleted mid flow which confirmed my thoughts...)

I think the article is very one sided as I know it is not the WHOLE mumsnet community that feel this way as is insinuated, on the contrary or else there would not be such diverse discussions regarding this topic (again to drag it it up, the abusive nature of the posts towards GF rather than just disagreeing with the method)

GF has turned herself into a brand - she talks about 'Gina babies', for instance. So is it any surprise that people use her name as shorthand for her methods? Bit daft to then turn around and cry boo-hoo, people are getting personal. Doh!
