"I had an affair with a male prostitute because I had lost my hair"

So Mark Oaten says in article in the Sunday Times this week. \link{http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,176-2168343,00.html\here}

Does the man really believe that we will now nod our heads and say "Quite understandable in that case?"

To be fair he does say that there are other things which are too private for him to discuss -
in which case I would have thought though that it would have been better not to say anything at all, instead of coming up with that pathetic hair loss excuse.

Blunderwoman, good name!

WWWontSlagOffAnyone · 08/05/2006 20:07

It's all a bit Little Britain isn't it?

motherinferior · 08/05/2006 20:08

I used to have a bit of a thing about bald blokes. Not Mark Oaten, obviously, or Homer Simpson - speccy intellectual types.

Now I know I was just playing a poor second fiddle to a rent boy...

morningpaper · 08/05/2006 20:09

I read a quote from the Hello article where Mrs. O was saying "We're going through family therapy about it, and I understand that he was under lots of stress."

I'm sorry but being under stress doesn't turn a man into someone with a penchant for shagging male prostitutes and thinking no one will notice if he runs for leader of the party. He is either MAD, horribly homophobic, or with an ego the size of which I cannot imagine...

morningpaper · 08/05/2006 20:10

I've had some bald blokes

very nice indeed

morningpaper · 08/05/2006 20:16

lol MartianB - now that's a MUCH more convincing response for a man going through a mid-life crisis! Wink

I feel for his wife. And his kids even more - it is bound to come out and they will get teased at school.

Agree it seems daft to take such a risk when in the public eye, but then to be a politician being a risk taker probably goes with the territory.

A bit of a revolting inclination to have, but harmless I suppose, both consenting adults. He could have worse vices from the electorate's point of view.
