Here. She didn't survive. I am just so shocked. How can you be killed on the way to school? Sad

VictorTango, In SE London areas where I live there are routes that have many incidents of violence, and we see often 2 police in rush hour on them and at some bus stops too. Police is always on platforms and trains in my neighbourhood during rush. Drivers have been attacked so in London their seat is protected by a plastic screen.

This is an awful thing to happen to a lovely young lady, it also brings the number of ( slightly distant) acquaintances that have died due to knife crime to 2 for my 17yr old Ds.

I'm sure you don't remember but my ds was grabbed by the neck by a random stranger and strangled until a bystander pulled him off (ds was then 16 iirc and a tall rugby playing lad on a bus a 6.30 in the evening causing no trouble). There was no cctv on the bus so nothing could happen...

I don't know what the answer is.sure as eggs is eggs it isn't to stop our teens travelling by bus. More would die on the roads instead, especially if they all took to driving or motor scooters instead.

I suspect ds attack and the death of this young lady were random mental health related attacks. The lad ds was at primary with may have been an accidental gang victim.

I dint think it's a big city bad rural areas good thing either.....

IFrogman 'm finding it hard to make a sensible reply to such an immature comment: so I won?t.

You did reply to me however with your post!

I would say to you it is irresponsible to underrate the safety issue in public transport because we have tragedies! Very very sad the girl is gone!

There is a huge campaign on safer public transport in London. It needs money but there are cuts to blame.

She went to my old high school. The community here is in shock, flowers are being laid outside school. The man they arrested is not the same man she tweeted about.

Man they arrested has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Theas18 I am awfully sorry to hear the case. Metal detectors have been installed in some bus stops to crack down on knife crime in Middlands and elsewhere People feel this is responsible thing to do.
