Why cant this man not be sent to prison. Taken from msn.

A shocking picture of junkie rock star Pete Doherty allegedly injecting a drug into a girl fan's arm has emerged.

The image shows the singer holding the syringe as the girl lies apparently unconscious on a kitchen floor.

The Sun newspaper said the picture was taken at Doherty's home in Hackney, east London, within the past five weeks.

They also published a picture of supermodel Kate Moss, 32, who they said has been secretly seeing Doherty, 27, despite their apparent public split.

A second picture of Doherty shows the singer jabbing a needle into his tattooed forearm.

Tony Linkin, of Coalition public relations, who has spoken on behalf of Doherty, said he was not aware of the pictures and said he could not comment.

He said Doherty is currently not represented by a manager.

Doherty was in London on Thursday night after his band Babyshambles performed at Plymouth Pavilions on Wednesday, he added.

The pictures are the latest episode in Doherty's battle with heroin and numerous encounters with the law.

Last Friday, he was bailed after being arrested on suspicion of fresh drug offences in East London. The arrest came just three hours after he was spared jail by magistrates for possessing controlled drugs.

This arse lives round the corner from me - have been hoping I don't run into him while he was drug-driving and end up being mown down with my kids. Why can't they put the little twunt away??

Not only did Pete Doherty change British music - if you look carefully at teh label, you'll see he changed British culture.

The whole of British culture.

I've just thrown out all my books, pictures, music and furniture. Am now waiting for the new, changed ones to arrive.

ruty · 28/04/2006 14:15

i would be really surprised if they managed to have a great sex life on heroin.

plummymummy · 28/04/2006 16:26

I reckon he probably has a personality disorder. These people can be very charismatic (hence his hold on Ms Moss)but ultimately they are on a self-distruct mission and like to drag people down with them.

donnie · 29/04/2006 15:37

he is a complete twat but I also feel sorry for him as being a smackhead must truly be awful. I expect he will be dead in the next couple of years though.
You wonder where these photos 'emerged' from though don't you? some so called friend will have taken them secretly and stiched him up - bastard. And of course the red tops pay handsomely for Judas pictures don't they? they are all as bad as each other!

expatinscotland · 29/04/2006 16:29

they could put him in jail, but he'd probably find a way to get hold of smack in there, too.

It's easier to get drugs inside than out, half the time.

snafu · 29/04/2006 16:36

Glad someone mentioned that ridiculous book. I must have been living under a stone for the last five years because my 'Albion' is pretty much unchanged despite the influence of Messrs Doherty and Barat. A junkie with a couple of decent tunes does not a cultural revolution make...

trice · 29/04/2006 16:54

I don't approve of prison for non violent offenses. I feel sorry for the bloke. The column he wrote from prison showed him as a self obsessed juvinile character. I just hope he managed to grow up a bit before the drugs kill him.

I really don't understand the hero worship he inspires.

FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2006 16:58

Someone earlier said "I don't understand why the media go on about him so much."

Because, as evidenced by the proliferation of threads like this on MN, people like to rip people apart, particularly those that have achieved some sort of fame.

If you want to go and stare at junkies, have a walk round Amsterdam. Oh I guess it's cheaper to buy the Sun.

FrannyandZooey · 29/04/2006 16:59

(and that's the closest I will ever get to being a Pete D apologist, but HC is away this weekend so I am standing in for her)

:)

plummymummy · 02/05/2006 12:56

Heard fan now says syringe was empty and they were mucking about. So charges apparently dropped. Hmmm, but she's a fan ......she would defend him wouldn't she.

lunarx · 05/05/2006 13:03

its a shame that he will probably end up dead :(

(i dont like him or his music, but its a pity, it really is to see a young life wasted on drugs like that)

plummymummy · 06/05/2006 21:51

I've now heard that he was drawing blood for some artwork. WTF?

charliecat · 06/05/2006 21:54

took a few days for someone to come up with that excuse.

plummymummy · 06/05/2006 22:32

If it was piss I'd believe it Grin

plummymummy · 06/05/2006 22:36

Also phlebotamy (taking blood)is a skill which people need to be taught. Not the same as injecting IV drugs (which is also a skill, but which addicts quickly learn). Why would Pete be interested in studying how to take blood. Why the feck am I interested anyway?!!
