Oh yeuk! I cannot believe that many people eat thier placenta, certainly no one I have yet met. It may be the done thing in places where there is a lack of basic nourishment but in the UK - I think not.

I guess you have to put it down to personal choice.

Agree with many on here that having seen one the idea of eating it just turns my stomach

We were also due to take it home, harpsi. Wanted to plant a tree on it, but it also needed to be analysed in the lab. Maybe next time ?

just like to point out though that although i do think its perfectly natural for the mother to eat it, it most definitely isn't natural for anyone else to! father would be bad enough but friends and family? why?

We didn't eat the placenta from dd1 and dd2, but we did take both home and have buried them and planted a tree on top, on some family land. As it plopped into the ground I really had no regrets about not roasting it up for Sunday lunch Grin
