gosh- so bringing up a drug addict and a foul mouthed girl makes you a fab mum? interesting.

fastasleep · 22/03/2006 18:37

I was kidding, does Kate Moss even see her kid often enough to show her the er..world? Anyway?

bundle · 22/03/2006 18:37

hasn't one of the other osborne daughters been ill (cancer?)

fastasleep · 22/03/2006 18:38

They could both be utterly fab mums though, out of the lime-light, just because we might assume they aren't doesn't mean they aren't... I'm sure it's incredibly easy to fall into a drug-fuelled haze when you're very famous.

bundle · 22/03/2006 18:38

didn't moss miss her daughter's 3rd birthday because she was in rehab?

fastasleep · 22/03/2006 18:40

Yeah but Bundle she was IN rehab so that cancels out the crapness.

Tortington · 22/03/2006 19:02

i think theres piles of love there in that osborne family and i think she has an absolutley fabulous ralationship with her kids. seems to be a keen business woman too. am glad she got it over some celery stick up yer arse laura ashley type

Caligula · 22/03/2006 19:13

Who appoints the mother of the year?

threelittlebabies · 22/03/2006 19:20

yes, much better than kate moss, couldn't believe she was even considered!! Shock Local radio DJ was talking about it, saying imagine she won- who was runner up, Rose West?! ShockGrin Tad harsh of him maybe Wink

Walnutshell · 22/03/2006 19:28

Agree with you custardo and not just because your name is making me rather peckish.

All needs a big pinch of salt really as who really knows what a celeb is like as a mom? Probably much better mothers living in my street with less money and more time and devotion...

The 'competition' is really: Best Mother as Portrayed Through the Media and Probably Voted for by Men Without Children'. Ahem. Wink

mumatuks · 22/03/2006 19:29

oh please don't have a go at Sharon. Read her biography first and what she's been through. I think she's come out looking (in both terms of the word) great.

mumatuks · 22/03/2006 19:30

yep I'm with you on this custardo! Spot on!

Piffle · 23/03/2006 08:31

Well yeah Custy but Kerry Katona got it last year, not exactly a Laura Ashley type and VB the yr before that!

bundle · 23/03/2006 11:08

fastasleep, she ended up in rehab not out of "ooooh let's do rehab for my poor child" but because she was caught out by the tabloids/snitchy so-called "mates" she'd picked up along with doherty. wasn't thinking of her dd then, was she...?

oliveoil · 23/03/2006 11:10

she shouldn't win for her hair alone, it's vile

gegs73 · 23/03/2006 11:12

hahah Kate Moss / Rose West funny.

eldestgirl · 23/03/2006 11:18

No doubt Daniella Westbrook will win next year. Am still recovering from her horrible revelations in the News of the Screws at the weekend (ie 2 year old stuck on dirty mattress in bedsit all day with only crisps, telly and a drugged up mother for company).

Caligula · 23/03/2006 11:28

I really do wonder who gets to vote in this poll. And what the criteria are.

I suspect one of the important criteria is how soon after labour you got back into your size 6 jeans. Obviously, only a bad mother would leave it any longer than 21 days and thus disqualify herself from this important competition.

expatinscotland · 23/03/2006 11:29

at least it wasn't kate moss.

but considering kerry katona won it one year, it's a dubious prize, IMO.
