"A woman in a tight niqab is up for it"

Just in case there is anyone still clinging to the belief that it's how women dress that causes men to sexually assault them.

There is no form of dress which makes women safe from sexual assault.

Women's dress is simply another hook for the permission-giving men indulge in when assaulting women: "It's OK - or positively virtuous - to assault her because she's broken law X that I have decided on."

Before anyone suggests this is somehow an Islamic issue, btw, the same behaviour goes on Christian African countries where 100 years ago women were walking round bare-breasted with just a loin-skirt. And now get assaulted and accused of being immodest for wearing jeans or above-the-knee skirts.

Is this 'in the news'?

Is this what you were referring to?

"If the girls were dressed respectably, no-one would touch them," one of them said. "It's the way girls dress that makes guys come on to them. The girls came wanting it - even women in niqab." One of his friends told me the boys were not to blame, and that there was a difference between women who wore loose niqabs and tight ones.

A woman who wore a tight niqab was up for it, he added.

Which just goes to prove the point to the rape apologists and those saying women should do more to protect themselves: No matter how far women go to 'protect' ourselves, it will never be far enough. Victim blaming is absolute bollocks, it really is beyond time to shift loudly and clearly to perpetrator-blaming.

Yes it is. Despite you obviously wishing it wasn't, yes it is.
