Two programmes going out on the same night. (monday 30 July) Dispatches sent a doctor undercover to train with Atos and Panorama......well being as its the BBC who broadcasts Saints and Scroungers and the week of the Nat West meltdown there was not one mention of it on Question Time but they still found 15 mins to froth about people on benefits i think i can guess which way the Panorama one is going to go.
I think the Dispatches one on Channel 4 will be very interesting though.

Check out Black Triangle facebook page. There seems to be somthing really weird going on. DH tried to log into his yahoo account and http.yahoo/atos comes up. Dh is not actually a member of Black Triangle but does recieve e mail updates from the benefits and work site. But members of BLack Triangle are having similar problems according to their facebook page.

What is B lack Triangle, care? Is it a disability campaign group?

carernotasaint · 31/07/2012 22:06

Ok. Thank you for that. (Excuse random spacing above)

These changes will affect people really close to me. Mainly disabled, or severely injured, but with strong work ethics.

carernotasaint · 31/07/2012 22:13

Sorry to here that caramel. My DH has breathing problems like the man featured in the Panorama documentary,as well as ischemic heart disease and arthritis.

That sounds worrying for you. Sorry to hear that.

Sonia Poulton, who wrote this in the Daily Mail
www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2149854/Oh-dear-Dave-Now-GPs-turned-Time-exit-strategy-disabled-perhaps.html

has written this to Ed Miliband,
ramblingsofafibrofoggedmind.wordpress.com/2012/08/01/open-letter-to-ed-miliband-please-add-name-and-postcode-if-you-agree-with-contents/

she is collecting signatures to add to to the letter

"Dear Mr. Miliband, I am a UK-based journalist and broadcaster.

I am prompted to write to you having just watched these two programmes on the subject of ?fit to work? testing for sick and disabled people: Channel 4′s Dispatches (?Britain On The Sick?) and BBC2′s Panorama (?Disabled or Faking it?).
This year, as a writer, I have been made painfully aware of how distressing, unreliable and costly ? both physically and emotionally ? the Work Capability Assessment is for those undertaking it.
The financial cost to the country is another concern altogether........."

Channel 4 secret filming exposed the governments mean spirited system Iain Duncan Smith should offer some explanation and make changes.

Cameron attacks the Vulnerable. Same old Tory toff

carernotasaint · 02/08/2012 21:21

Despite these programmes being broadcast Atos have won another contact. The one to assess DLA claimants for PIP. Fuckers.

I would love a clause to be added to their contract that says 'for every decision you make that is successfully appealed you will forfeit £1m'. Then they might actually play fair.

caramelwaffle · 02/08/2012 23:37

That's an idea NT.

Like it.

ATOS have been awarded the contract for PIP (the benefit which will replace DLA)

FrothyOM · 03/08/2012 08:03

oops cross posted

tuckchop · 03/08/2012 13:29

Atos are as cruel as the Tory government they serve for taxpayers money.

When that Dispatches programme goes out on the 13th August i bet we will see "niceguy" on that thread afterwards. Though he has been absent from this one.

FrothyOM · 03/08/2012 15:07

They better be bloody careful to explain that DLA fraud is 0.5% of claimants. If they don't then complain.

carernotasaint · 03/08/2012 15:10

Oh i will!

flexybex · 03/08/2012 15:22

I see today that ATOS just landed a whopping £400M contract.

caramelwaffle · 03/08/2012 15:22

Blimey.

2old2beamum · 03/08/2012 16:21

I bury my head in my hands weeping in despair, poor buggers, how could this fucking lot hand PIP to ATOS

tuckchop · 04/08/2012 09:51

Camerons Tories bash the disabled because they think it is popular with voters.

carernotasaint · 04/08/2012 17:30

Article from Dame Anne Begg which mentions the recent Dispatches and Panorama programmes.
