What a shock, I had no idea she´d been ill. She was brilliant, such a dry sense of humour. Will miss her deadpan voice on R4. Sad

yoyo · 28/02/2006 18:39

They are talking about her on Front Row tonight (7.15, R 4) and there is a special News Quiz on Friday too. Enjoyed her contributions immensely.

TinyGang · 28/02/2006 18:46

robinpud · 28/02/2006 18:57

shame- she must have been battling for a few years. I saw her live a while ago and she had a wig then. Hope it was peaceful at the end.

edam · 28/02/2006 18:58

Was shocked to hear this on the 6 o'clock news. Everyone who commented mentioned how warm and kind she was.

Will miss her.

JoolsToo · 28/02/2006 19:06

this is so so sad. only 48.

ovarian cancer is such an awful disease. I had a scare with this a few years ago (was a borderline tumour, although it was kind of cancerous it wouldn't have spread) and the frightening thing is the symptoms can be quite unnoticeable until it's late on. Every time I see a story like this I feel upset, especially when it's someone like her.

JanH · 28/02/2006 22:54

\link{http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/religion/radio4appeal.shtml\This} is the Nigel Havers appeal for Ovarian Cancer Action.

laundrylover · 28/02/2006 23:24

VeniVidiVickiQV · 28/02/2006 23:27
