Haven't found the story on line yet, but my colleague just read it out to me. Ok it's the Daily Mail but I'm sure there must be some truth to it...

guy steals car, drives without licens, doing 48mph in 30mph zone, hits 3 year old girl. She dies.

He gets done for careless driving and gets 12 weeks reduced to 6 weeks.

However a guy who dared take a teddy bear from the momorial place got 8 months in prison!

Go figure!

In my eyes it's manslaughter nothing less.

upps that went on the wrong thread! Sorry

Lately I get the impression that the law seems to protect the offenders more than the victims

So if he's no licence is this because he was previously banned or because he's never actually taken a test to get one?

Yes i'm with nbg, whatever car he was driving or whatever scumbag he was, he went out that day and killed someone.
Why isn't it manslaughter? (Murder really but i know that would be asking too much!)

Nbg · 24/02/2006 11:05

I would have said murder too Angeliz but he probably didn't go out there and decide to kill someone

however he did and he will serve his piddly 12 weeks and no doubt go out steal some more cars and drive them with no license and maybe kill someone else.
