Unemployed used as unpaid staff at Jubilee event and expected to sleep outside

This story about unpaid workers doing the security at the flotilla event yesterday is bad. They were misled about not being paid, and had to sleep out in tents or actually outside 'under London bridge' was suggested to them. This is Workfare in action again, I believe.

Mamma Dave set up the Leveson Inquiry.

Like many of his knee-jerk reactions, it's not turning out terribly well for him, but I'm enjoying it.

MammaBrussels · 07/06/2012 16:44

Ltd he bowed to pressure from Ed! Can't believe he's referred Warsi and not Hunt Angry Angry Angry

Josephine is likely to think that 'cutting the public sector' is a good in itself. Regardless of the fact that no money is actually saved because the government just hands the money out to its nasty corporate/Eton mates.

I laughed like a drain at the new Parenting Classes thing. An old Eton boy wants to make some money, so the government gets right behind it. But sod doing things like improving childcare, to actually really improve the lives of families. And driving single mothers into poverty....great idea for the country as a whole eh? Bound to save money on the care bill, crime, etc.

We are becoming a punitive, carceral economy like the US. Money 'saved' on ctting benefits and basic social care will be spent on punishing the poor, cheap schemes designed to hand public cash to corporate crony friends of the government, and a massive increase in the number of prison places to accommodate the starving and increasingly likely to be criminal masses.

This is the future Daily Fail readers want and they're going to get it. They are too idiotic and hate-blinded to realise that only a tiny minority of 'taxpayers' will benefit from this...the ones who actually don't pay tax, because they already siphoned their funds off into offshore companies and banks.

The country is deeply sick and although I hope Labour will improve things, I frankly doubt they will. It was Blair and Brown who brought in welfare reform; although at least they realised that to get single mothers out to work it is a good idea to provide childcare.

Hunt will tumble and then the last man standing between Dave and oblivion a City consultancy will be gone

I've no sympathy for Warsi. She's is an absurd creature who couldn't get elected in her own backyard and allowed herself to be used by Dave because she's a greedy and foolish woman.

Not that being greedy and foolish is a bar to riches.

:) I hope you are right about Hunt tumbling but the arrogance of this bunch combined with the utter public apathy around the issue make me wonder.

Warsi is as vile as the rest of them, but she has been chosen to be the sacrifical lamb because her face quite literally does not fit with our uber-privileged-white-boy Cabinet of sociopathic wankers.

limitedperiodonly · 07/06/2012 18:10

Have faith domesticgodless. It's the only thing apart from wine that's keeping me going atm Smile

btw Hunt lives round the corner from me. Do you want me to take him out?

not for a cosy evening at Swan Lake

MammaBrussels · 07/06/2012 18:16

Ooh Ltd could you put a massive fuck off sized Sky dish on the front of his house please? Or shove about 1,000 copies of The Sun through his letter box?

Hunt'll go in a reshuffle after the summer break. Jeremy Clarkson will probably be parachuted into the HoL to take over from Warsi

domesticgodless · 07/06/2012 18:19

Hunt should go with a full public shaming right in his smug face.

Mamma you realise you are asking Ltd to (bleurgh) buy the sun. I understand every leftie has to make sacrifices but really, that's too much.... :)

FrothyOM · 07/06/2012 18:47

"Ooh Ltd could you put a massive fuck off sized Sky dish on the front of his house please? Or shove about 1,000 copies of The Sun through his letter box?"

Stick dog turd through his letter box. It's free, you can find it on every pavement and it's much less revolting than the Sun. Grin

limitedperiodonly · 07/06/2012 18:49

In one of the Bourne films Matt Damon uses a rolled up magazine as a lethal weapon. Just saying.

Alternatively I could take The Sun from work but that's only two days a week so it would take time to achieve letterbox critical mass.

I'd have pinched it from the library but Westminster Council have closed it owing to budget cuts and the fact that the unemployed and the old were using the premises to keep warm and plot revolution.

I feel it's appropriate at this point to have taken into consideration the offence of reading the Sun for the purposes of reading Ally Ross's TV column.

But I haven't done it for a while and I never paid for it and always hated myself afterwards. By way of mitigation I forced myself to read Jane Moore, Jeremy Clarkson, Frankie Boyle and Wee Lorraine Kelly.

BlackOutTheSun · 07/06/2012 19:38

What happend to 'make work pay?'

MammaBrussels · 07/06/2012 20:13

They added 'nothing' to the end of the sentence

BlackOutTheSun · 07/06/2012 20:54

Or it does pay, just not the person doing the work Sad

NicholasTeakozy · 08/06/2012 13:15

Molly Prince. The gift that keeps on giving. How has she passed a CRB check?

limitedperiodonly · 08/06/2012 13:50

Has her company been stood down for Olympic duty yet?

It's just I got my tickets this morning and if she's got anything to do with the security I'll stay at home and watch it on the telly.

BlackOutTheSun · 08/06/2012 19:37

Molly Prince has now got Max Clifford for PR.

Now we know where the money went...

MammaBrussels · 08/06/2012 19:53

Will she be eating hamsters next then?

limitedperiodonly · 08/06/2012 19:55

That's going to cost a lot.

Molly or Mary or whatever your name is, just crawl back to your hole and stop digging

limitedperiodonly · 08/06/2012 20:19

Because I'd hate to think they couldn't respond I've C+Pd from the other thread.

It's been around 24 hours since josephine, flatpack, poulay, nancy66, whatme, clytemaestra and PandaWatch championed Workfare.

What? Are you lot all busy working hard to keep the economy going on a Friday or do you feel a bit foolish now that shit has hit the fan about Close Protection?

Off you go.

1sassylassy · 08/06/2012 21:17

No,theyre all over on this thread defending the honour of their Conservatives.

claig · 08/06/2012 22:00

That report about her doesn't sound good.
But, I don't think that in itself means that her company was not "fit for purpose" in this case, when the coach arrived 2 hours early etc.

BlackOutTheSun · 08/06/2012 22:08

Mamma Its taken me all evening to get that comment Grin

carernotasaint · 08/06/2012 22:30

Max Clifford??? Fuck hes even more odious than i thought.
