Helicopter crash in North sea on way to oil rigs

Luckily it seems so far that all are ok, thankfully. My dh went offshore today, and although he has been doing it for years and years, I still worry about it, though most of the time don't think about it. The helicopter was going to a rig dh used to work on and he still works for that company. I wont hear from him until tonight so won't know if he knows anyone. Ds2 is 18 next year and he can't wait to get on the rigs. Am just so glad that so far the news is that everyone is ok. Am thinking of anyone who has family and friendsthat were on that flight.

DH used to work offshore and used to worry about it. He's do all the training in the swimming pool with his suit on but said if a helicopter ditched the chances of surviving it are remote. Hopefully everyone is ok though.

Dh says the same, the survival course is there to give them the best possible chance, but he said that it would be nothing like the real thing. Dh once got evacuated from his rig due to a gas leak and I got a phone call from the office at four in the morning to tell me in case I heard it on the news.
There were 16 men on board the flight today -14 passengers and 2 crew. So far they all seem to be ok.
