Will the truth ever be known. I feel really sorry for his family, his reputation has been really dragged through the mud.

Ooh this crime is intriguing. I read that the flat didn't have single finger print in it. DODGE-CITY.

I can only assume it was secret services related, but then why not properly hushed up?

NewMatic · 23/04/2012 14:51

oh yes
thgink the flat was cleaned before the police came.

there was no way he could have got self into bag

i know taps nose

Pinot · 23/04/2012 14:52

Was the bag locked from the outside or some'at?

DODGE-VILLE

ripsishere · 23/04/2012 14:59

IIRC, the keys were found inside the bag, under his body. It is all very odd.

I can do bags.

SardineQueen · 23/04/2012 15:24

They have taps nose experts?

I can do that too!!!

SardineQueen · 23/04/2012 15:25

His poor family.

The whole thing is bizarre.

ripsishere · 23/04/2012 15:28

Yes to get back to being serious. Something is obviously wrong with his death. I read an article a couple of months back which suggested the flat had been deep cleaned so no DNA was found there, not even his.
Also, his absence from work went unreported for about eight days.
Some evidence from the bag was contaminated with that of the collector
It was all a monumental cock and cover up.

DODGE-TOWN

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 23/04/2012 15:55

Dodge city indeed! I bet Putin was involved in fact he probably did it himself with his own super anti-hero hands when taking a day off from bare chested stallion riding and extreme ice fishing.

ripsishere · 23/04/2012 16:40

Grin at Putin.
There is some stuff though that will never come out. I do understand about national security, but, his parents are not going to have all the answers.

DODGE-LAND!

Tanith · 24/04/2012 08:02

I don't really understand why they're calling him a spy. He was a code breaker - a brilliant one. The report I read made him sound in the league of Alan Turing.

ripsishere · 24/04/2012 08:11

Spy is more dramatic and more easily understood.

CogitoErgoSometimes · 24/04/2012 11:33

I can't help thinking the whole espionage/MI6 angle is a bit of a red herring and we're all too keen to make this an episode of Spooks. If there was no mention of the job this poor man did, we'd be thinking he'd fallen foul of some gangland types who are quite expert into making people disappear without trace. Bundling someone into a holdall might have been the prelude to removing him from the building to disappear quietly under a flyover.

ripsishere · 24/04/2012 11:42

Fair point cogito, but why was his flat so thoroughly deep cleaned?

OP posts:
MOSagain · 24/04/2012 14:28

some of the comments in the news are a bit daft.
Police have established that he could not have put himself in the bag and (i think it said) padlocked it. However, they have no evidence of any one else being involved! Hmm

CogitoErgoSometimes · 24/04/2012 15:03

You don't have to be in the spying game to deep clean an apartment. My guess is that the murderer/s had spent time there in the past and therefore knew they had to do a more thorough job then just wiping away a few incriminating dabs.

hermionestranger · 24/04/2012 22:25

Te whole story is quite frankly odd as a box of frogs. How on earth did he get in the bag, lock it from the outside, get the keys back in the bag and underneath his body, all whilst in the bag in the bathtub with no cause of death?

I'm starting to think that perhaps it was voldermort.
