what kind of monster does this to an innocent baby??
i hope that whoever is responsible....well actually i cant type what i hope happens to them.

jambuttie · 08/02/2006 21:29

what a lovely handsome wee chap. What kind of monster would do this to a poor defenceless baby

Rest in peace little angel

Just seen this thread, first I had heard of it, been watching nick jr most of the day.

It is sick, he looked so gorgeous in that photo it made me want to cry. What could he have done to deserve anything like this. Whoever did this needs to pay for their crime and i dont mean by getting a few years in a comfy prison.

what type of world are we living in? Sometimes i regret having children as if it is like this now what will it be like in twenty years time?

lanismum · 08/02/2006 21:50

cant put into word how angry this makes me, a lovely healthy little boy just snuffed out like hes nothing, what possible reason could anyone have had to do that? if they didnt want the kid why the hell not give him up to someone who would have loved him and kept him safe, i really hope the animals that did it suffer in the worst ways imaginable.

muma3 · 08/02/2006 21:57

the world is getting worse and worse and i sometimes wonder what i have brought my children into .
god help us if this is getting worse how things will be in 20-30 years time?
why why why
is it some kind of drug or what the bloody hell is making all these killers?

Just saw the little boys photo on the news, makes me want to sob, so I went in to look at my 6 month old sleeping baby and thought if anyone harmed her I really would not be responsible for what I would do to them. There are some sick people in this world

flutterbee · 08/02/2006 22:56

God that has just made me cry my eyes out.

I'm off to cuddle my ds

expatinscotland · 08/02/2006 22:59

aw. poor little baby. i think of my little baby, all the gestures and expressions she has. she's so precious.

it's hard to believe some people have so little value for these defenseless little souls.

No matter what the circumstances I think we should all be extra vigilant about locking doors etc. Poor little mite. I can't comprehend how anyone could do this to a baby.

pebblemum · 09/02/2006 09:48

I've always been vigilant about locking doors and windows.

I live in a ground floor flat and we have a back garden that backs onto a dark car park so I always make sure that the big windows are shut properly at night even in the summer and that the doors are locked once it starts to get dark.

My Dh works nights so I've always done this to put his mind at rest but after what we have been hearing in the news lately I will be doing it out of neccessity. The more I can protect my kids from these evil b'stards the better.

MissChief · 09/02/2006 09:52

oh come on - seems clear was family member according to police reports (and that's always far more common than "stranger danger anyway!). Poor teenage mother might have had PND/found responsibility too much, who knows? Sounds like she/they needed help though and failed to get it, very sad...

Kidstrack2 · 09/02/2006 09:54

OMG How can a baby dissapear from its cot for someone to harm him

pebblemum · 09/02/2006 10:19

MissChief I expect it was family this time but after that little girl was snatched from her bath while her mum was in the next room hasnt it made you think a bit more about how safe kids are in this day and age.

I agree with you that there's a chance the mum was suffering from PND but she lived with her mum so it wasnt as though she was dealing with it on her own. If that is the case and the mum knew her daughter was suffering and did nothing then she is as much to blame for the baby's death than her daughter (if she did it- havent listened to the news yet)

I know people who have suffered severe PND but never once have they ever thought about harming their child. They may have wanted to hurt themselves but no matter how bad it became they would never have taken anothers life. I may get shot for this but I dont think PND should be used as an excuse for this hideous crime. Whoever killed that baby and put him in that drain knew what they were doing and deserve to pay.

merrymum · 09/02/2006 11:12

how can anyone hurt a baby? how can they look at their little face and then hurt them? im crying just thinking about it. that poor little boy i just hope the monsters who did this are caught hung drawn and quartered. either that or leave them in a room full of mnetters and see if they get out alive......

peacedove · 09/02/2006 11:20

sad, so sad, what is happening to society? WHy babies?

tarantula · 09/02/2006 11:39

Oh the poor wee mite Its so sad that things like this still happen despite all the services that are now available and all the care that we now take.

But have to say that I dont think the world is getting worse and am quite sure that things like this happened much more frequently in the past than they do now. Our world has become a safer and much more secure place and many many more peope are getting the support they need to help them rather than it all being swept under the carpet like it was for many years. Its because things like this are no longer ignored that we think that things are getting worse whereas in fact because these things are no longer ignored that they are getting better.

UMMM not sure that makes sense.Stories like this upset me and I get incoherent when upset.

kittyfish · 09/02/2006 12:01

We certainly have loads more media coverage about child abuse cases but I also think we have more nutcases in the world these days. I don't think we are necessarily living in a safer world than say, 50 years ago. Even if we are I would rather be a bit paranoid than put my child at risk.

tiredemma · 09/02/2006 12:15

local reports are suggesting that its the mother and grandmother in custody.

kittyfish · 09/02/2006 12:17

OMG so they were in on it together? How vile.

leogaela · 09/02/2006 12:51

What a beautiful baby! How devastating !

lunarx · 09/02/2006 13:01

rest in peace little baby...

tiredemma · 09/02/2006 13:06

apparently, still under arrest are the grandmother, mother and father.
