Apparently
here
I am really dismayed about this. I really thought the BBC footage would do the trick.
The quote about the verdict being a victory for the people of Britain I found especially disgusting.

I cannot believe it. They are beyond vile.
Comparing asylum seekers to cockroaches, calling Islam wicked and vicious etc. Ugh

What I find most hideous is the way he says that they "don't hate other cultures" that they "hate this government for letting them in and creating a multi cultural society". HOrrible, vile man.

'The Now Show' put another spin on it though: basically that the BNP is so much an excuse for a political movement that they can't even manage to be racist - which you'd think would be their prime directive.

If they can't manage that, what the hell else are they good for...??

Has anyone seen the BBC footage ?
I don't mean the stuff the BBC showed, but the unedited version ? Presumably the jury did, and they reached a different conclusion.

Makes you wonder what the BBC did to the film. They have a rather bad history of selective reporting.

Sure this guy is scum, but that's not a crime.
"Race hate" crimes are a stupid idea anyway, and this illustrates only a small set of their defects.

Moslems aren't a race, unlike most religions it has almost no racism wired into it, and they are rightly proud of that. Sad they have so little else to point at as a group.

Asylum seekers aren't a racial group either. They are desgnated this by the government in it's ever more vicious attemtps to pander to the racist old women who read the Daily Mail.

Frankly you could change the language very slightly and it would be an immigration speech from either of the big parties.

It's very tempting to attack this bloke, but let's not get too self righteous here. Hands up those who changed their voting intention when it was made a more serious criminal offence to employee an illegal than to cause an employee to lose his arms ?
Who has personally had a go at a politician for the way 6 year old kids are physically assualted by government heavies ?
What about the camps ? If Jews were put in camps that "accidentally" burned down, the media would be howling on a 24*7 basis. But since they're black people and E.Europeans who actually gives a toss ?
Exactly how much better are we than Germans ?

The jury will have gone into the evidence (far more of it than we have seen or the papers have had space to report) in depth and decided their verdict on whether the prosecution had managed to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that a crime had been committed. I am sure they will have been aware of, and probably disturbed by, the possibility of the BNP claiming a victory, but it was their duty not to take that into account. Even scum deserve a fair trial.

Maybe the verdict is for the best. After all, imprisonment didn't harm Hitler's career.

i heard there was going to be a retrial?

Yes, ruty, you're right. The jury failed to reach a verdict, rather than acquitting the BNP leaders, so there's a possibility they may still end up in prison.
