Probably been done to death, but holding my breath to see what the budget will bring for child benefit on Weds? Will there be a U turn?
What do you think will happen?

Mum2Luke it's not my policy and I'm not defending it - just pointing out some misconceptions.

My older two are 21 and 18, they are not babysitters, the eldest is away at University in his last year and about to graduate and the 18 year old is going to London to work as an au pair so she can save up before she too starts university.

My youngest (10 on Friday) plays for a football team, I am usually the one to take him as dh now works some weekends so no I cannot work weekends, I don't see what that is anything to do with it. He works incredibly hard, is away in London on business as I type this so how do you propose I work at weekends without any family help as they live an hour away?

I used to do two jobs, but that was when dh was not working weekends. My Doctor told me to give up one of them as it was causing me alot of back pain, I fractured my thigh in 1987 and have arthritis in my knee. Find me a job which does not involve lifting heavy objects or am not on my feet for too long around where I live and I will gladly work Monday to Friday.

Thanks Mr Anchovy.
May have to look into remote working...!

Mum2Luke · 26/03/2012 23:17

Mr Anchovy, I apologise, I didn't mean to bite your head off. Having lots of trouble trying to get money owed to me by a parent and its causing tons of stress.

After watching Sport Relief on Friday I realise just how lucky we are just to have running water and a toilet. Sad

New to MN, so forgive me if I do not get the hang of all the lingo initially! Have so far just been a fly on the wall to see what folks think of the Child Benefit fiasco, but have become so incensed by what this half-baked Government are doing, that I felt I must put my tuppence worth in. Whilst I know they have to do something about "The Deficit", what they are doing with CB just beggars belief. I stand to lose all of mine (mum of 2) and would do so with good grace if I felt it was being done in a fair & cohesive way - but it just isn't! How on earth George Osborne can defend, as fair, the proposal in it's current form is beyond me. He is breathtakingly arrogant & smug whilst he admits that there may be "some inconsistencies". -"Well George, those inconsistencies you refer to are real people, with real children and real lives who you seem totally unprepared to acknowledge."-He should make it FAIR or not do it at all.www.mumsnet.com/te/6.gif
