How awful for the baby, I'd be traumatised if I had found her.

Thank God she was found in time.

muma3 · 29/01/2006 19:41

cant believe she didnt drown or suffocate or something. bloody awful . how could you????
just cant imagine why they would put her in a river? leave her in a hospital or something but a plastic bag in a river??
i really feel for someone who could be that desperate to have no option but that
poor poor baby
i want to bring her to england and love her

My GP once said to me that the worst part of post natal depression can be that mothers think that it's best for the baby if they died - so in really rare cases they harm the child with the 'best of intentions'...so I suppose that could be an explanation.

expatinscotland · 29/01/2006 19:56

just seeing her cry - i can hear that in my head. it's the way my tiny newborn cries.

i'm glad she was found.

childern · 29/01/2006 20:03

must be the worst thing to have is pnp, i was very down after my 2nd but we where both in hosp when he was 4wks old with differnt things but it never entered my head to harm the kids. could have harmed myself

not normal behaviour to do this, the person must have a mental illness or something beyond their control. i couldnt believe that she didnt look totally distressed, thank goodness they found her before she sunk, it doesnt bear thinking about

Just saw this on the news. Burst into tears. Bless her cuddling up to the nurse.

charliecat · 29/01/2006 22:16

There was water in that bag Just saw it on the news...So SO So lucky to be alive...

Rhubarb · 29/01/2006 22:46

A woman was seen dropping the bag into the water - her mother?

blossom2 · 29/01/2006 22:50

i just saw this on the news and the baby is so cute. it was heartbreaking and thank god she is saved..... so sad

charliecat · 30/01/2006 15:57

Whats the latest on this? Her mum been found?

QE2 · 30/01/2006 16:01

How amazing that she was alive.

Just amazing.

Earlybird · 30/01/2006 16:09

Yes, the mum has been found. Someone tipped off the police who found the woman at her boyfriend's house. She said she was struggling to survive/cope and gave her baby to some people she knew. She denies putting the baby in the water. People have evidently come forward offering to adopt the child.

What a miracle that the baby is alive, but how sad that it happened.

Hulababy · 30/01/2006 16:11

Where did you find that info out? Was trying to find it earlier on BBC but found nothing.

Earlybird · 30/01/2006 16:13

It was in the paper this morning - must admit to the dreaded Daily Mail....even had a photo of the mum.

lanismum · 30/01/2006 16:13

i saw this, cant believe the poor little thing was alive! lucky little girl that she was found in time

satine · 30/01/2006 16:32

At least the nurse in the hospital who was holding her in that video seemed nice. Poor little baby, I hope she is adopted by a family who will love her.

biglips · 30/01/2006 16:33

i couldnt get over it that she is a 2 months old baba!!!... i saw her on the news last nite and i thought "very lucky girl!!"
