Just so you all know, a 12 week old baby was raped several times by her babysitter & boyfriend over a period of 2 months.

Mail sent.

Whilst I applaud your effort and vigilance it realy is not necessary to hijack so many threads with this as most of us open current threads when we log in to see what is going on.

I second this. Some people don't want to be forced to read about this. It's very bad manners to hijack threads on totally different topics, some of them just as important as the point you are making. You are damaging your own cause a bit by hammering people with it UCM.

I have sent an email though and am appalled by the sentences.

Once again, I am sorry if I have been a bit OTT with this, especially on threads where people have been talking about sensitive stuff. I admit, that I published the thread, as I was worried that not everyone reads everything (I usually go to the Arts & crafts threads myself), so I wanted to reach as many Mums as poss.

Really really sorry.

Sorry if I was a bit full-on there UCM - tired and irritable! I do hope people will add their support.

Mumofmonsters - the baby is now about 18mths I think. She is alive and will suffer from no longterm physical damage caused by this. Here's only hoping she was far too young to suffer any mental scars too.

Disgusting and disgraceful and I hope they rot in hell.

Email sent.

Oh thanks Toothache, I have been trying to find out whether the baby was OK. I just hope she has such a peaceful and loving childhood any psychological damage can be healed. I've never been so angry and disgusted

The weird thing is, the parents didn't know anything had happened until the police got in touch. It doesn't sound like the baby was physically hurt? (I'm not clear on the details of what actually happened, and I probably don't want to be.)

I'd also hope that whatever happened, was probably just completely incomprehensible to the baby, much as many things are to a baby of that age. I'm pretty sure that one evening or whatever of really horrible stuff happening is not as harmful to a baby as longterm milder mistreatment, particularly by the people the baby knows and loves.

(Even if the baby wasn't at all harmed, obviously what these people did was wrong wrong wrong.)

believe me, it's not just this case that horrifies me - it's all of them. It just so happens that's it's through this one that I heard of Shy Keenan and the Phoenix Survivor's Trust, and discovered that this way of protest was possible. Now I do, I may well be doing it again, and I'll be supporting this charity and others as much as I can in the future.

Once again, I would like to thank all of those who are joining in with support. I think I done enough apologising yesterday so will not bother today.

Keep em coming and if you are able to, send a letter as well.
