here

Not usually a sleb watcher but this is linked to the "superinjunctions" palaver a while back which was discussed on here a lot so I thought it would be worth sharing!

FWIW my thoughts are what a lying scumbag this man is.

She was single
He was married

She didn't sell her story and the sun has confirmed this
He spent his money to keep his name out of it while hers was all over the papers

She has not lied to the courts
He has lied to the courts

She has not told lies in order to have someone's name tarnished
He has

I mean....

I don't get how anyone could think they were equally at fault in this situation.

There seems to be such a lot of hatred directed at her, and the words used to describe her.

The reaction against him is not nearly so strong - and yet he has clearly behaved way way worse.

it's Odd.

What the hell did he expect, shagging something like that?

xyfactor · 15/12/2011 17:33

Nobody would have known about the injunction if saint Imogen hadn't mentioned it in her loudest voice possible.
She's made a fortune out of this and knew she would.
The OW is as bad as the cheating husband.

SardineQueen · 15/12/2011 18:02

Erm the whole point about a superinjunction is that it is a criminal offence to reveal the fact that the injunction exists.

egro she did not go around mentioning it, as that would have seen her straight in prison.

Not about being a 'victim'. Why should that come into it?

She was unfairly libelled and defamed and a man and his legal team are proven to have lied in court.

This man treats all women like crud. She made a mistake and likely has learned a lesson from it. This piece of male crud carried on making the same 'mistake' over and over and destroyed his own family and that of his own brother, nieces and nephews.

And Ms Thomas is the bad guy.......?

Who needs mysogynistic men with so many women really seeming to enjoy damning her as the guiltier party? Yes, she slept with a married man and Ms Thomas readily acknowledges that she should not have done this. But her behaviour pales in comparison to his.

Giggs is a man who uses and destroys women when they become a 'nuisance' to him and he paid for his sister in law to abort the baby conceived as a result of his affair with her. All in secret....Or he wanted it to be.

I'm stunned, jaw hanging open stunned, at the attitidude on here. This isn't about the morality of who is as bad as who. This is about someone with money gagging (illegally it transpires) someone. Last time I looked, who you spoke to was your own business. If she wanted to sell her story, and folk are daft enough to buy it, her business. If he was being blackmailed, police would have investigated. No charges, can't see any grounds for gagging her. It's the gagging order that gets me most of all. How dare he?

If she slept with the England squad and all members of the Royal Family, I cannot for the life of me see why she should be gagged. And of course, she shouldn't have been, hence the invention of blackmail. Nasty, insidious creeping big brother trend here we all should abhore. All animals are equal, some are more equal than others. If you have pots of money you can actually take away someone's most basic liberty, the liberty to speak your truth. Shocking.

There was no equality to start with within their relationship. His money and power skewed it and he used them deliberately.

Ms Thomas is not equally to blame.

Life is not and never has been equal. It is messier than that.

And those who see her as having equality within the relationship including equality of blame have bought into the patriarchy I am afraid, as horrid as it must feel to be told that.

I mean seriously how can anyone possibly suggest that what she has done is as bad as he has done? He has misled the courts in order to bend them for his benefit. That is in a different league altogether to a single person having an ill-advised affair. I don't understand how anyone can fail to see that.

I have this feeling that mrs giggs knew all about her husbands previous infidelities and that she had given him a last chance warning , which is why he went all superinjunction. It would appear he has been forgiven for now , or perhaps divorce proceedings are already under way .
