Me too Caligula. I remember really liking him in the eighties and connecting with him, then being suddenly alienated by him. Can't remember how it happened. Someone mentioned a Peter Tatchell incident. Perhaps that was it. Like you I retain the annoyance despite having lost touch with the cause.

I bet his advisors suggested now would be a good time to come out given that half the country has given up alcohol for January and is finding it bloody hard.

That's quite an interesting lesson for politicians, marketers, etc. isn't it? I hate Dixon's as well, for something they did 20 years ago, the details of which I can't remember. But I refuse to buy any electrical good there ever because of it.
