Interesting article but this point illustrates to me the flawed logic of their argument:
"Why should there be one law for Travellers and another for us?" is a common complaint. Let me explain why.
There is one law. THE law. There is no variation for any ethnic race. To do so would be by very definition racist.
Can you imagine muslims claiming that they should be given special areas to live in? Or how about Jews who don't feel they should have to apply for planning permission for synagogues because they own the land and its part of their culture to worship there.
Basically, nothing I read in that article makes me think any differently and I am still confused over why travellers seem so hell bent on ensuring they don't travel.
The bottom line is that travellers still think they should be treated as a special case just because of who they are.
