Has Sarah Jessica Parker actually *met* her own child?

I ask because in Grazia she's interviewed saying that she doesn't want to be a f/t mother (fair enough) and that she likes working (also perfectly fine) but then adds that work has its compensations for her son, such as (and I quote from memory) 'seeing a world famous performer sing with your child for four or five hours'. This child is 3 YEARS OLD! Four or five hours???
Is she of the Madonna school of parenting - ie she delegates the whole thing and has NO IDEA.

walkinginawinterBundleland · 01/12/2005 11:24

MARINAtivityPlay · 01/12/2005 11:28

I found the I Enjoy Being a Girl ad for Gap extremely hard to take, I must say
ROFL at the tolerance levels towards "music" displayed on here
Dd manages to make the opening bars of Balamory sound very frightening indeed

walkinginawinterBundleland · 01/12/2005 11:37

god don't let dd1 find out. she's mad for a harp. atm both dd's are loving: Firebird and Scheherezade, with Pop Party 3 thrown in for good measure.

MARINAtivityPlay · 01/12/2005 12:08

It's Turangalila dawn to dusk in our house, with some Stripsody thrown in for good measure, ladies

bosscat · 01/12/2005 12:13

my dh was taken with his brother to see some classical concert which lasted for 6 hours when they were 6 and 4 his dad is a bit like that though, just does what he wants and doesn't think "oh, they are CHILDREN, might they be bored?" His top idea for what to do with my kids one weekend was to drive for 4 hours to his old college to have a look round as apparently they had a nice cafeteria.

bosscat · 01/12/2005 12:15

does anyone think that if madonna had to actually spend time with her kids she might like the TV on occasionally?!

thecattleareALOHing · 01/12/2005 13:46

She would have the world's biggest Disney collection.

walkinginawinterBundleland · 01/12/2005 13:48

she'd be so desperate for a break, she'd let them watch Guy's films

myrrhthamoo · 01/12/2005 13:48

Ain't that the truth, bosscat? I consider TV an essential parenting tool, myself.

fennel · 01/12/2005 13:52

bosscat, my 5yo still talks with reverence about the time DP took her on an open day to his old uni Physics department. it was a highlight for her. she met his old tutors and saw the computer rooms.

I do larf at that Lovely advert when she says "Lovely from the inside". Well, there ain't much loveliness going on on the outside.

hotmulledwinemama · 01/12/2005 14:07

Whether you undertake paid work from the home or not you are a full-time mother - like you go to work and you don't think about your children or their welfare etc.

SJP does look like a horse - but that it is being cruel to some lovely horses.

yULeYSEES · 01/12/2005 18:03

Don't get me started on maddy and tv

Video killed the radio star don't ya know Maddy?? Where would she be without tv? Pah!!

DingDongMerrilyOnHIGHLANDER · 01/12/2005 19:56

hornbag · 01/12/2005 21:04

Its reassuring to hear other people say what I've thought for years -SJP a "fashion icon" / stunningly beautiful - MY ARSE !

zebratwizzler · 01/12/2005 21:55

Unfortunately my step-sister looks a lot like SJP.... but better. Would be hard to look like sJP & look worse (harhaharharhhar...)

yULeYSEES · 01/12/2005 22:00

Hope SJP isn't an mner

mandymac · 01/12/2005 22:01

Humm yes, dh is of the opinion that she her face is like 'a dogs a**e with hat on' which I think is a tad mean, but I can see the equine characteristics definately.

DD has rejected the classical for freeform jazz stylings.

Apixelmascarol · 01/12/2005 23:25

Luckily, I've never seen a horse that looks like JSP.

IntergalacticTheRedNosedWalrus · 02/12/2005 02:26

Does SJP's some get her dressed in the morning? She dresses worse than my Granny, who is an eccentric and blind 87 year old.

IntergalacticTheRedNosedWalrus · 02/12/2005 02:29

son, not sonme. Anyone'd think I've been at the xmas sherry
