RIP Amy. So sad. She joins the '27 Club'. Such a talent wasted. Condolences to her family Sad

Monty27 · 23/07/2011 18:09

Poor Amy :( RIP

GypsyMoth · 23/07/2011 18:11

fab.....its kind of easier to hear it here than see it on breaking news on tv/paper headlines....dont know why that is,i guess cos you can discuss it straightaway.

some threads are getting nasty now tho Sad

scottishmummy · 23/07/2011 18:12

fab its news people cant tippy toe around in case someone gets het up

GypsyMoth · 23/07/2011 18:12

what is this 27 club?

TheOriginalFAB · 23/07/2011 18:18

Apparently some other rockers have died at 27.

I am not worried about people attacking me for what I have said here and on other threads. Just posting what I feel.

teejwood · 23/07/2011 18:20

tiffany 27 club is the collective name given to the list of artists who died at the age of 27 - janis joplin, jim morrison, jimi hendrix, kurt cobain, robert johnson, and probably richey edwards.

scottishmummy · 23/07/2011 18:20

fab youre a drama queen, who is attacking you?
this isnt about you.its about amy

TheOriginalFAB · 23/07/2011 18:26

Not a drama queen. Not bothered what people are saying tom e. Just answering points.

Chummybud1 · 23/07/2011 18:37

Only an addict knows the real power of addiction, now is not the time for nasty comments,

It's sad for anyone to lose their life at such a young age, rip Amy. The world has lost a really talented young woma.

Condolenscesto her family who showed her endlessly over her troubled years just how much they cared. They must be heart broken

scottishmummy · 23/07/2011 18:39

addiction is a complex illness, and no amount of pull yourself together will address it.is complicated mental and physical illness. unfortunately for amy and her family it had catastrophic infleunce

InFlames · 23/07/2011 18:43

Really sad, and maybe I'm naive / prudish / daft / judgy but I find all the 'junkie, scum, deserved it' posts that are rapidly filling my rarely used FB page really disrespectful. Addiction is horrendous. She was really really talented and has died too young. Maybe her death will serve as a warning to her young fans?

scottishmummy · 23/07/2011 18:45

her flaws and all made her the woman she was.saw her live few times and it was amazing, she had outstanding presence and gravitas.you really knew she had star quality

2shoes · 23/07/2011 18:45

inevitable, but very sad

mycatsaysach · 23/07/2011 18:47

this is so sad.i feel really upset.poor girl.such a talent.i really didn't think her story would end like this.RIP x.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 23/07/2011 18:55

Not a huge surprise, but very sad all the same Sad Such a pity she couldn't be helped.

filthyfunkproject · 23/07/2011 18:56

Her death was not inevitable - not everyone with drink and drug problems die young - a lot of addicts may full recoveries and go on to live a fairly long life.

aliceliddell · 23/07/2011 18:58

another tragedy. The Daily Fail sidebar is a joy, too. Every item is slagging off some woman for some imagined failure related gto their appearance.

activate · 23/07/2011 19:00

a lot of addicts don't

and Amy Winehouse appeared self-destructive

so I think unfortunately it is sadly inevitable

iklboo · 23/07/2011 20:50

I was SO hoping she'd be able to get over her troubles and come back to show everyone what a star she really was.

AmberLeaf · 23/07/2011 23:19

Very sad news indeed.

She was a mess [as lots of addicts are] but she was still someones daughter, I feel huge sympathy for her parents/family.

QueenofDreams · 23/07/2011 23:23

I really hoped against all hope that she would pull out of it all and get her life back on track. I am saddened that it ended up like this after all. She was such a talent, with such an amazing voice. It's so sad when people throw it all away like this. RIP.

mayorquimby · 24/07/2011 05:18

Shouldn't be posting this late or this drunk. Absolutely gutted about this. Easily the best voice of the last ten years and 10 years from now scene kids with river island tops will be wearing t-shirts with her face on them.

NetworkGuy · 24/07/2011 11:20

"Maybe her death will serve as a warning to her young fans?"

One hopes so, but the next music star with a million-plus lifestyle may go the same way... From what was said on radio early on, she had not been a user of class A drugs, so I assume alcohol (which is, after all, widely abused) may have been the cause.

"she would pull out of it all and get her life back on track"
Local shop owner had been told by her not to server her any alcohol, so she was certainly trying...

AttilaTheMeerkat · 24/07/2011 11:37

Peaches Geldof would do well to take note.

The only person who could help Amy in the end was her own self and for whatever reasons she could not get past her ever present demons.

Her chaotic life outside of music led into hangers on, enablers, yesmen and ne'er do wells. It was never going to end well.

May she rest in peace.
