NOTW backed the tories the last election and Cameron was expecting them to put him in again at the next election. All of the parties have sucked up to the press at one time and another as the newspapers do have a lot of power over elections as a lot of the stupid voters believe everthing that is printed. the Guardian is reporting that Andy Coulson will be arrested tomorrow (or at least is to go to a police station with his solicitor, arrest likely).

To think that Cammeron et al, isn't tied up in this is a little blinkered. He hired coulson and then dismissed him well in time [when they knew the shit would eventually hit the fan for him]. He is best friends with RB. Murdock...papers...bsky...conservative backing and Boris Johnson. Don't think anymore needs to be said really.

Cousin is to be interviewed at a police station tomorrow, and probably arrested, so it's unlikely there will be much that can be said publicly (sub judice and all that).

But it puts the pressure on DC - if he hasn't nailed his colours to the mast by Sunday at the latest, then he's holed below the waterline (not sure why I'm coming over all nautical - maybe it's rats leaving a sinking ship?)
