Grockle · 07/07/2011 20:03

How did MN do it?

KnittingRocks · 07/07/2011 20:04

?????

What the hell did MN have to do with it? Confused

Snuppeline · 07/07/2011 20:06

Haha! As much as I would like us to take the credit I think there were more people than us who made it fold. It isn't over yet though, that editor (Rachel Brooks) is still hanging on by the skin of her teeth and I don't for one minute think only NoW did the shady stuff. Nope, I think more is to come and I am sticking to my resolve to not buy the Times.

HappyDoll · 07/07/2011 20:07

Dear lord, no, in a word.

theyoungvisiter · 07/07/2011 20:09

Oh fgs there are other people with opinions in the world you know, other than on here!

GypsyMoth · 07/07/2011 20:09

What makes you think that op?

scarlettsmummy2 · 07/07/2011 20:10

i have read that News international registered the website "sunonsunday' several days ago. It is all very convenient.

Dianella · 07/07/2011 20:18

The Murdochs have sacrificed the NOW to save Rebekah Brooks? Begs the question how much dirt does she have on them that they're willing to do this?

bibbitybobbityhat · 07/07/2011 20:19

PMSL!

bibbitybobbityhat · 07/07/2011 20:20

or broaden your horizons,fgs

KnittingRocks · 07/07/2011 20:26

I'm not sure it is just to do with RB and more to do with the whole NI brand - e.g. the boycott of NOTW could have spread to The Sun which would have been catastophic.

They will definitely relaunch a Sunday Sun - will be interesting to see how long they wait before they do.

TragicallyHip · 07/07/2011 20:27

Haha!

It's been everywhere!! Dh knew about this story over a year ago!

DoraJarr · 07/07/2011 20:39

er everyone did since 2005

JeremyVile · 07/07/2011 20:45

See this is the result of reading NoW. You read some stuff on MN about it, then NoW folds...join the dots, easy innit?

Enjoy the SunonSunday when it hits the shelves.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 07/07/2011 20:48
Hmm
TrillianAstra · 07/07/2011 20:50

No.

Neither did Twitter.

MugglesandLuna · 07/07/2011 20:51

Its a cost cutting excersize rolled into a PR arse covering mission.

The Sun will spread across 7 days.

Curiousmama · 08/07/2011 16:53

Yes SunonSunday will be next

mayorquimby · 08/07/2011 16:58

Jesus, do people actually believe in the influence of Mumsnet?

wordsonapage · 08/07/2011 17:01

I blame the mumsnet election it's created delusions of grandeur.

youonlygetonelife · 08/07/2011 17:01

Yes, mayorquimby, alarmingly, they do. Our leader, the sainted Justine is going on Newsnight tonight, to represent the masses. Rather than just a self selecting bunch of middle class women with too much time to waste

CogitoErgoSometimes · 08/07/2011 17:01

I'm quite enjoying the idea that Murdoch, haughtily ignoring an entire House of Commons Debate, a plummeting share price and threats to boycott one of his newspapers from all quarters of society.... stumbles across Mumsnet, reads a thread or two, turns pale and reaches for the telephone.... Grin

OracleInaCoracle · 08/07/2011 17:01

no.
