Some news channels are already reporting that the decision is to be delayed until September. But BBC says no official announcement has yet been made.

One thing the BBC said is that the authorities have to consider every single response to the consultation - there have been about 100,000 additional responses in the last day or so, so that in itself is likely to cause a delay.

And it also means that the more responses they get, the longer this will take.

meditirina any delay is purely because they have to consider each email in response to the consultation and signing the petition constitutes a response from a memeber of thepublic ie they have to look at each one.
