One of my favourites growing up. Just heard that he had a heart attack behind the wheel and crashed into a tree and died. RIP.

btw How do you make links? I click the convert links automatically box and it doesn't seem to do anything.

Yet another wrestler gone before their time. He was a true legend.

RobF, I personally just insert links manually tbh...sorry I can't be of more help!

Here is the link

I loved the Wrestling in the late 80's/early 90's.

Although I was a Legion of Doom fan.Wink

My brother was really into WWF in the late 80's/early 90's when we were kids

I remember him (and his 1st wife - 'Miss Elizabeth'(?))

They all seem to have rather sad endings, don't they

Bumperlicioso · 20/05/2011 22:17

Aww, macho man was my wrestler (while my best friend got to have Brett the Hitman Hart - actually didn't he die recently-ish too?).

notnowbernard · 20/05/2011 22:20

Bret the Hitman!

It's all flooding back now

EggyAllenPoe · 20/05/2011 22:24

it is very sad. dying of a heart attack in a hotel room/at wheel of car/ in the gym is pretty much natural causes for a wrestler.

although they are usually great men rather than good ones...i really loved his work, he was one of the big WWF stars! whatever anyone says about the business, it takes a certain kind of guts (or 'intestinal fortitude' as Bobby The Brain used to say) to throw yourself into certain pain just to get a cheer from the crowd.

notnowbernard · 20/05/2011 22:29

It is sad, Eggy, you're right

Have you all seen the film The Wrestler (Mickry ROurke) I highly recommend

EggyAllenPoe · 20/05/2011 22:36

i highly second you recommendation, a great film - evn if you don't know much about sports entertainment!

also, watch the interview on the daily mail article with 'mean' Gene Okerlund - a man at the very top of his game.

notnowbernard · 20/05/2011 22:43

Indeed, you don't really need to know anything about wrestling to enjoy the film

It's one of my favourites

BulletWithAName · 20/05/2011 23:34

It's a fantastic film...it puts me in mind of the real life story of Jake 'The Snake' Roberts. Now that is tragic Sad.

Bumperlicioso... Bret Hart isn't dead. He was on Raw on Monday night. Miss Elizabeth died in her early 40s some years back though. RIP Randy.
