Bloody brilliant:

www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/2011/apr/18/tina-fey-bossypants-autobiography-comedian

You have to scroll down to the feeding bit -
particularly like the end:

"I was defensive and grouchy whenever the topic came up. At a party with a friend who was successfully nursing her little boy, I watched her husband produce a bottle of pumped breast milk that was the size of a Big Gulp. It was more milk than I had produced in my whole seven weeks ? I blame Entourage. As my friend's husband fed the baby, he said offhandedly, "This stuff is liquid gold. You know it actually makes them smarter?" "Let's set a date!" I screamed. "IQ test. Five years from today. My formula baby will crush your baby!" Thankfully, my mouth was so full of cake they could not understand me."

That whole article was hilarious, I loved the bit where she responded to Internet knobbos

RitaMorgan · 18/04/2011 13:45

Sounds like she had a tough time. She's wrong about the World Health Organisation recommendation though - think she got confused about exclusive breastfeeding.

Weird that the bloke at the party was feeding the baby a bottle if the mother was there too though!

KnittingRocks · 18/04/2011 13:51

Fantastic! Sad but true reflection IME.

Whatevs · 18/04/2011 13:53

Love her! Nothing worse than the smug 'breastfeeding' dads. And I say that as someone who breastfed. I remember some dickhead dad-to-be at antenatal classes preaching to other pregnant women about the benefits of breastfeeding. I felt like ramming a can of SMA up his jacksy.

tethersegg · 18/04/2011 13:56

"If you choose to not love your baby enough to breastfeed, you can pump your milk using a breast pump."

Thanks for that link, very funny. I've always liked Tina Fey's wit!

StealthyKissBeartrayal · 18/04/2011 14:18

:o
She is funny - who is she?

tiredfeet · 18/04/2011 15:02

Very funny Grin. I have bf, but hate how polarised the issue has become

I liked the bit on being too skinny too, I was 'too skinny' for a bit and she struck a chord with me, its good to see the funny side of things sometimes

GwendolineMaryLacey · 18/04/2011 15:29

I've never heard of her before but I love her :o

daymonkeynightmonkey · 18/04/2011 15:43

thank you for posting the link op!!!!

bemybebe · 18/04/2011 15:57

You have never heard of Tina Fey aka "Sarah Palin" parody? Grin Probably "the" person that put the final nail in the coffin of John McCain presidency campaign.

MilaMae · 18/04/2011 16:05

Grin nearly choked on a Cadbury's mini egg!

TwoIfBySea · 18/04/2011 23:06

There is an even better version if you can get it to work.

Tina Fey as Sarah Palin and Amy Poehler as Hilary Clinton.

If you can get it running then it is very funny!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 18/04/2011 23:14

Ooh those who've never heard of TF need to see 30Rock - it's hilarious. Second series finished recently but you must find it and watch it somehow!

ohmyfucksy · 18/04/2011 23:24

She is amazing

"My obstetrician suggested the next day at her bedside visit that perhaps I hadn't rested enough during my pregnancy and that was why she was so small. "What a cunt," I thought to myself in what was either a flash of postpartum hormones or an accurate assessment of my doctor's personality."

I bloody love Tina Fey I do. That's cheered me right up!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 19/04/2011 00:29

I agree. I will now go to bed laughing. Good ol' Tina (also just been watching her in 'Date Night' with Steve Carell, her male equivalent)

AlpinePony · 19/04/2011 13:54

Tina Fey wrote "Mean Girls" and she played the maths teacher.

Fabulously funny woman.

Love the article!

RitaMorgan · 19/04/2011 17:34

I have never met one of these aggressively pro-breastfeeding dads, I reckon it must be a middle class phenomenon.

LittleWhiteWolf · 27/04/2011 15:01

I love Tina Fey. I love her even more reading the struggles she found with breastfeeding and switching to formula. It's almost exactly how it happened with me and DD.
Thats not to say I'm glad she struggled, I just mean its heartening to read her account laced with humour.

FreudianSlipOnACrown · 27/04/2011 15:24

"What a cunt," I thought to myself in what was either a flash of postpartum hormones or an accurate assessment of my doctor's personality. brilliant :o

Love the description of bizarre BFing positions too!

I am absolutely pro BFing - but also was mix feeding my first. She's got it spot on. Love it.
