What's your favourite UK daily newspaper?

After seeing Mumsnet in the Daily Mail today (a huge non-story) I was thinking about the papers I read (or don't read?!) and stumbled on this poll - I wonder if you have a favourite?

I found a poll online (it's free to click on)
www.folkdirect.com/newspapers

I'll put the results on here after a week maybe? I don't know if that poll expires, but it'll be interesting to see anyway!

I do not have a favourite newspaper these days. I usually watch the news on television, read the headlines on Yahoo! or sometimes browse all different newspapers headlines online.

SheilaS · 06/04/2011 19:22

Yeah, it's pretty much what I do nowadays too. Nice to get a 'balanced' (ish?!) view of the world!

I have 5 favourites; Al-Jazeera, Rueters, Torygraph Telegraph, The Guardian and The Independent.

I truly believe The Daily Mail would have been Hitler's favourite newspaper if he had been alive today.

Ryoko · 07/04/2011 00:15

I find the Daily Mail to be very soft and absorbent.

K999 · 07/04/2011 00:17

The Herald

bemybebe · 07/04/2011 00:41

Rueters?? If is it Reuters, it is a news agency or do they publish a newspaper?

bemybebe · 07/04/2011 00:43

FT, The Indi and Telegraph. I love weekly The Economist, great wrap up of the weekly news. The only newspaper I subscribe to.

reelingintheyears · 07/04/2011 11:20

The Times.
The Guardian.

For balance.

FT, The Telegraph, The Times.

diabolo · 11/04/2011 11:25

The Times every day.

Private Eye every few weeks.

LadyFannyofBumStreet · 11/04/2011 22:47

My apologies bemybebe, it is Reuters not Rueters and they are a news agency whose reporting style is not as biased as some traditional newspapers.

longfingernails · 11/04/2011 23:12

The Times for myself most days - though I try to keep up with the Mail/Sun too - they are surely the most important newspapers in Britain.

I used to subscribe to the Economist but stopped after Bagehot wrote an article insinuating that the Tory right shouldn't be proud of being proved entirely correct about the fate of the euro.

CocktailQueen · 11/04/2011 23:24

The Times every day but I like the Daily Mail on Thursdays for the Femail maagzine :)

Rohanda · 11/04/2011 23:28

The Times most days as it burns easier in the aga. It tends to chuck the Mail out again. Not sure why.

conculainey · 12/04/2011 00:49

I buy the Daily Mirror (n.i version), always truthfull and on the money imo.

cgcraig · 12/04/2011 10:22

The Daily Mail

Indiestarr · 15/04/2011 11:30

SheilaS, it seems odd that the poll you've linked to doesn't include an option to vote for The Guardian. Seems like quite a major omission!

paisleyII · 15/04/2011 15:44

love hate relationship with the mail

MumInBeds · 15/04/2011 15:50

'The Guardian' or 'I' for me - neither of them are there.

ChairOfTheBored · 15/04/2011 21:03

The Times, and mid-week the Guardian on-line (sport section is great, and I like the balance).

hester · 15/04/2011 21:04

The Guardian, usually. Or I, which I really like.

Driftwood999 · 15/04/2011 22:15

The Evening Standard. On the occasional Sunday, The Observer. Online I indulge myself in the Daily Mail, feel guilty and cross check with the Guardian.

Barcam · 15/04/2011 22:21

The Mail, although its bias annoys me and Telegraph.

DiscoDaisy · 15/04/2011 22:25

Can't start the day properly if my copy of the Daily Mirror is not on my doormat when I wake up!
