Not very high because I doubt many people would try again after 2 or 3 sets.

I suspect medically it wouldn't be thought to be odd. I'm assuming they're non identical and that she always releases two eggs at a time

suzikettles · 27/01/2011 09:55

That poor, poor woman.

She probably releases 2 eggs when she ovulates and the odds of having twins each time were pretty high.

at the thought that in the past they would have killed one of the twins at birth Sad

yes, non identical, it says in the article.

My sister had six sets of twins. One twin died in each pregnancy apart from the last one where she delivered the full set.
I was having kittens waiting for my first scan. I was one of a pair, the other died.

crikey kreecher, mind my niece was one of a pair too, they thought it was a m/c , then they found she was still there

I was really concerned that I would have twins since there is such a strong family history.
The woman in the story is very brave although, I think she should have gone on the pill. All that fanny about god forgiving her for being sterilised makes me a bit cross.

I have a friend with twin girls, who was told that her chances of having twins again were roughly 85%. I think it's to do with family history, her age and some other things. Also having twins already makes you more likely to have them again I think.

Needless to say she isn't going to have any more!
