I hadn't heard about the person who wasn't all she claimed to be until I read this from the inquest today.

Very odd indeed - she died a month later aged 35 here What strange, strange lives some people lead. So terribly sad. As an aside the things she claimed to be or have done remind me very much of the trolls who crop up here - especially the baby thing.

Anyway - I hadn't heard about this before today so though somebody else might also find it interesting.

It is so sad when you reda things like this. It must be horrible to find yourself in a situation when you have to make up such sad stories to get attention or to make yourself fell worthwhile.
Also must say I really feel for Shyanuja Parathasangarys family having this ontop of the loss of their daughter.

Yes - from other bits of the inquest that I've read, a lot of the families are just trying to find out if anything could have been done to help their loved one, did they make contact with anyone after the explosion etc.
The thing is - for this woman her just being there and trying to help, hold people's hands, shout for help - that is enough to do. She didn't need to make things up and it is just horribly tragic that she felt she should.

How bizarre! I guess some of the odd trolls on here have similar issues .

How curious. You have to be a bit unhinged to post birth and death notices of fictitous twins.

Unwind · 26/01/2011 11:25

What is even more odd, is that when I googled her, every hit with a date on it (newspaper articles etc) are dated as from August 2005.

That telegraph article in the OP, and these, for example:
www.nzherald.co.nz/health/news/article.cfm?c_id=204&objectid=10342653
www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2005/aug/29/world.july7

Weird. I can't think of any explanation for that.

Unwind - that's because she died in August 2005. Her death was in the papers as a follow up to the earlier stories about her 'heroism'. I've seen a site full of conspiracy theories - somebody even got hold of her death certificate and pm report! Really tragic and ironic actually that somebody who obviously made up a lot of things about themselves ends up in death having things made up about them.

Blush at own stupidity

It is an odd coincidence - the old internet trolls and her fantastic stories.

As with her interest in blood clots and her cause of death. But coincidences do happen, and there seems no reason to suspect foul play.
