Well I am not very Hollywood minded and don't read gossip mags, but surely there are some well known gay actors. And even if there are not, don't they just stay single these days? Do they really marry women just to scotch rumours?

Spot on, tee! It is very, very conservative still in many areas of America, and a male star could DEFINITELY stand to lose much of his marketability if it were to come out that he was homosexual.

I grew up with a bloke who's now getting pretty high up in the ranks of Liongate - some film company. His parents are close friends of my folks. I'll call him 'Rory'. Rory is in his late 20s, very attractive and gay. He's had several boyfriends among the ranks of Hollywood, but knows better than to open his mouth about how is still closeted.

Let's just say it would surprise a few folks. Not just those who are gay, but those who are also openly bisexual in their non-professional lives.

It's interesting that slightly more women in the US public eye feel able to come out...Ellen de Generes, Rosie O'Donnell, Melissa Etheredge.
Apart from his total lack of discernible talent I just find Tom Cruise contemptible on so many levels I don't know where to begin. Ugh ugh ugh
