Sorry - but my first reaction was to laugh "don't forget the urn"

\link{http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-11650729\projected onto Big Ben}

Sorry but I giggled Blush

Yes it's naughty and all that, and it's UNESCO world Heritage site - but come on - what harm a projection onto it going to do to it.

I agree! Where's everyone's sense of humour these days Grin

Chil1234 · 29/10/2010 15:36

Let them enjoy their joke. (And it was a good one, fair play) Have a feeling the last laugh will be ours!! Pack the urn, lads, but get it a return ticket.

MaMoTTaT · 29/10/2010 15:40

exactly Chil - it was a good joke, you know if they'd spray painted it on, or scaled big ben and draped a banner over it I could see that would be an issue.

But presumably no-one actually laid a finger on our precious UNESCO world heritage site since it was projected on.

I have to say if that's the worst criminal offence they've got to follow up they should count themselves rather lucky

Ahem,

We shall see about that.

Chil1234 · 29/10/2010 15:49

I'd be willing to bet that a loyal member of the Barmy Army, once the ashes are safely back on the plane to Lords, will be rowing out to the middle of Sydney Harbour with a projector and some pithy riposte to beam onto the Opera House!

Apparently Big Ben was "abused", what a bizarre choice of language!

Chil1234 · 29/10/2010 16:15

Well it was certainly insulting... albeit in the we-can-take-the-piss-out-of-the-Poms-because-they're-family Aussie tradition. But 'abused' is rather strong. Didn't Gail Porter's bum get projected onto the Commons once? Suggest Westminster Council train some of their many CCTV cameras on the likely projection spots in future!

SumfingNew · 01/11/2010 16:43

I think it was funny and I'm the biggest stickler for the law I know!

(Goes without saying we should win and return with said (replica) urn as planned!)

BadgersPaws · 01/11/2010 17:07

I immediately thought that urn meant Unique Reference Number, I don't do sport...

PumpkinLightsForHalloween · 01/11/2010 19:03

Oh dear Westminster Council has no sense of humour, do they? Grin
