Sad he's having a bittersweet year Sad
sorrento56 · 08/09/2010 16:26

here I feel so sorry for them all. What timing with Baby Florence being born just a few days ago.
He was only taken ill last night and now he is gone.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 08/09/2010 16:27

Just on the radio that he had flown out to see him, very sad to hear he has died.

Tootlesmummy · 08/09/2010 16:28

I hope he got to see the new baby. I was pleased he and his brother and sister got there before he passed away.

Highlander · 08/09/2010 16:28

oh how awful - it must be grim to grieve in public Sad

ilovemydogandMrObama · 08/09/2010 16:29

Sad Hope he was able to see his father before he died. How great though that he was able to see his son as Prime Minister.

sorrento56 · 08/09/2010 16:31

On the BBC link his father died soon after David got to the hospital. Sad

longfingernails · 08/09/2010 18:24

Very sad.

At least he got to see his son become PM before he died.

expatinscotland · 08/09/2010 18:26

Very sad. The family has expressed sentiments that his end was peaceful and he passed away whilst happily on holiday. I guess that's as much as can be hoped.

sorrento56 · 08/09/2010 18:26

I don't think he was able to meet the baby thought which is really sad. DH and I take comfort that our Grandmothers were able to meet/know about all of our children before they died.2

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 08/09/2010 18:26

So sad :(

He must be an absolute mix of emotions, first Ivan, then having the new baby and now losing his Dad. Poor bloke.

sorrento56 · 08/09/2010 18:27

thought

You are right, Aliba, such highs and lows.

Ponders · 08/09/2010 21:19

Apparently Nicolas Sarkozy laid on a helicopter to get them to the hospital as quickly as possible - it sounds as if that made all the difference.

It is sad that he never met his new granddaughter but at least he knew about her.

\link{http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/sep/08/david-cameron-father-dies-stroke\the photo here is so sweet} Sad

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 08/09/2010 21:22

Very sad for all of the family Sad. What a time they've had over the last couple of years.

Alambil · 08/09/2010 21:23

so sad :(

TwoIfBySea · 08/09/2010 21:24

There are a lot of people on here who hate David Cameron and had nothing but stupidly negative things to say when his daughter was born.

Lets hope they have the decency to keep away from this thread and have some heart.

That is v sad news

AnyFucker · 08/09/2010 21:34

aww, I saw DC's dad interviewed on telly when he was elected

he seemed like a good (posh) egg, and so thrilled for his son

it is quite, quite sad...

Doodleydoo · 08/09/2010 21:51

I feel so sad for the man, whatever your political views it is a tragedy to lose a parent.

I can empathise with him to a great extent, my father also had a stroke whilst on holiday in France. My db and I rushed to be at their side (my parents) and got there. Ironically the person who was on holiday with them also had a stroke and sadly died where my father has recovered well but will never be the same Dad the was prior to the holiday sadly. In the same bitter twist, I returned from France sad at the death of a much loved family friend (who had been thought to be getting better - I then had to call some of his relatives and let them know what had happened as his dwife was unable to Sad) and concerned for my father AND 4 weeks pregnant. Very bitter sweet.

Merrylegs · 08/09/2010 22:29

It does kind of make you think, doesn't it, if you feel like you're having a bad day - in recent times this guy has lost his son, his father, has a new baby and young children and is running the country. Blimey. I'm not a fan of his politics, but I do really feel for the guy.

LilyBolero · 08/09/2010 22:31

Very sad news - I am glad his dad got to see him as PM, and he doesn't have the regret of 'if only'

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 08/09/2010 22:32

Sad Poor blokes been having a crap time, I do really feel for him.
