EccentricaGallumbits · 05/09/2010 09:46

£1200 a night? Shock what on earth would one do to make that?

LoveBeingOnEbay · 05/09/2010 09:48

But remember who she had to sleep with, I would probably have charged more Grin

turnitup · 05/09/2010 09:53

Hope she dumps him now, what a tosser.

Loved the line 'owen looked at him disgust' good old Michael Grin

BigBadMummy · 05/09/2010 11:03

THe original story was reported in the News of the World and their website is now down.

Rooney's lawyers, maybe?

SleepingLion · 05/09/2010 11:08

Is anyone surprised? - least of all Colleen?

LouMacca · 05/09/2010 11:42

The website might be down but its all over the papers.

Dump him Coleen! Can there be anything more humiliating that your husband visiting a prostitute while you are pregnant?! Vile man.

flibbertigibbert · 05/09/2010 13:11

I really hope she dumps him.

She's got plenty of money in her own right through her magazine columns, perfumes, clothing lines etc so she can still have a lavish lifestyle without him.

I'm bemused as to how that woman can charge £1200 a night. I suppose it's small change for him though.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 06/09/2010 08:12

I've only seen this in online papers, but, I think that Coleen should go and retain some self respect.
I wondered what that woman could do that was worth so much money too.

PussinJimmyChoos · 06/09/2010 08:23

If this turns out to be true (Puss does not want to be sued hence use of word if Grin) the cheating is disgusting enough BUT what about the putting Colleen at risk of sexually transmitted diseases while preg with their child?!!

prozacfairy · 06/09/2010 18:31

Is it me or is there something really off that a footballer with probably loads of desperate girls gagging to sleep with him, would pay for sex?

Hope Coleen rips him a new one for playing Russian Roulette with her and her baby's health, humiliating her and the actual act of cheating.

Bet she doesn't though.

clam · 06/09/2010 20:10

Poor Coleen. What must she be going through right now?

She comes across as lovely. Wasted on him, mark you, but she loves him. Always has. Before he made it big. Different scenario from some of the other WAGs.

Wonder if she MNs? If so, big hugs to you, Coleen.

Brockster8 · 06/09/2010 22:43

They are such fuckwits knobs cos they are stupid, overpaid and under the not so misguided impression that some blokes and the press will forgive them anything because of their footballing skills.
This has been going on for years.. we have had plenty of players who have clouted their partners, or had overseas hotel assignations which were not entirely kosher with young ladies.
I love football I just hate the jerks that play it

mayorquimby · 07/09/2010 12:00

honestly couldn't care less as long as he keeps banging in the goals for united.
Footballers should only be role models to aspiring footballers and only then for their ability and dedication to their game. As long as it doesn't affect his performances for his club I don't see why any fans would care about a player shagging around.

mayorquimby · 07/09/2010 15:20

Oh and also with regards to the thread title why tar them all with the same brush?
Most footballers aren't utter dicks and a huge amount of good work and charitable foundations receive a lot of support through the footballing community.

HerBeatitude · 07/09/2010 20:51

Why tar them all with the same brush?

Because the culture of the premier league is riddled with the attitudes to women which lead to this sort of behaviour. It's not a few bad apples, it's institutionalised mysogyny.

Funny how it's irrelevant about their sexual misdemenours, but their charity work is relevant. Why is one worth mentioning but the other not?

There is a much bigger thread on this here

charlieliz · 08/09/2010 06:22

and the fact that he managed to score in last nights game, rather than showing he was 'mentally fit' to play, possibly just shows he isnt really that bothered and thinks he is going to get away with it?
Hope not -get rid of him Colleen, and also from the team.

mayorquimby · 08/09/2010 10:11

Why would you get rid of arguably your best player (Ashley Cole the only one who could be reasonably argued to be better than him) from your team?

and
"Funny how it's irrelevant about their sexual misdemenours, but their charity work is relevant. Why is one worth mentioning but the other not?"
The players who's sexual misdemeanours have been highlighted are not irrelevant to branding those particular players as knobs but equally players charitable works are relevant when people come out with such sweeping generalisations as "why are they such utter dicks?" and the insinuation that footballers as a whole are pricks "It's not a few bad apples, it's institutionalised mysogyny. ".
Some are some aren't, why not simply focus on the individuals who you are berating.
About a year ago Adebayor gave up 3 million of his own cash to build a hospital near his home town in the Ivory Coast, Jamie Carragher does a huge amount of work with kids from Liverpool, Dirk Kuyt has a big role in a homeless charity back in Holland.
As you say yourself "Why is one worth mentioning but the other not?", well that's exactly what threads like this are doing, mentioning one bad aspect of certain footballers without mentioning the good aspects of a similar amount. That was my only argument, don't say all footballers are dicks etc. and completely ignore all the good work that a lot of them do.
I never said, don't mention their infidelities, all I said was that if you are going to start a thread about Rooney and extrrapulate that to all footballers and their character values then you have to mention both sides otherwise it's just tabloidesque "broken Britain" ramblings with no balance.

TheJollyPirate · 08/09/2010 10:14

Wonder what I could make as an overweight saggy boobed 44 year old Wink Doubt it would be £1200 a night.

Guess I am in the "granny" category.....

HerBeatitude · 08/09/2010 20:07

MQ the point about something being institutional, is that it's not about individuals - when Wotsisname said the police were guilty of institutional racism, he didn't mean every police officer was a raving racist.

Just as not every footballer is a squalid shagger. But oh the culture of it... bleurgh.
