I have the solution to the Ground Zero Mosque

Given the furore over the suggested mosque at Ground Zero see www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/aug/18/ground-zero-mosque-republican-attacks
and given the devastation happening in Pakistan, why don't they donate all the money to help their Muslim brothers and sisters. This way they not only look good but by the time they have raised the money again, things may well have cooled down.

Just a thought.

To the OP - why should American Muslims feel compelled to send the money to Pakistan? Do we in the UK feel we can't build anything because there are crises in Christian countries?

Yes it's good to help Pakistan. No, the American Muslims shouldn't be restricted from spending money because there is a crisis in a Muslim country.

ChoChoSan · 25/08/2010 13:52

JoDevizes maybe it was done 'in the name of Islam', but what has that got to do with ordinary muslims of the non-murdering variety.

Would you hold all catholics/protestants in London responsible for atrocities carried out 'in the name of' their religion in Northern Ireland?

ChoChoSan · 25/08/2010 13:54

Sorry - didn't notice that MIFLAW made a smiliar point!

jodevizes · 28/08/2010 17:18

The idea is not that it is against all Muslims but it would appear to be a little insensitive to place it so close.

But then we all have to bend over backwards and alter our laws for any minority that pulls into town and start bleating. For goodness sake, Klingon is a recognised religion now.

I come from the point of view that if I go to live in another country I accept their laws and conventions and have the politeness to learn their language. If I don't like them I get the hell out.

good grief, how did this go from gerrof our ground zero you nasty Muslims to piss orf all yew nasty forriners in only 55 or so posts

sonicxtra · 29/08/2010 00:44

Personally I think there should be a ban on all religion practiced outside the home, if your going to worship/ speak to your God why does it matter where it's done?
Does he/she/they/it not listen just because you haven't banded together in a large building with other like minded people?

As for the is-not-is a mosque located near the twin towers site, it's just a matter of sensitivity, especially as the date to open/ start work? was reported to be 9/11/2011 (10 years).

As for the right to build, the greek orthadox church a block away was denied their permit.

Tortington · 29/08/2010 00:50

"The idea is not that it is against all Muslims but it would appear to be a little insensitive to place it so close."

2 blocks away? you should go to 4od and watch last weeks jon stewarts daily show

."..But then we all have to bend over backwards and alter our laws for any minority that pulls into town and start bleating. For goodness sake, Klingon is a recognised religion now."

Please can you provide some evidence for this statemenmt?

Tortington · 29/08/2010 00:52

i dont think there should be any catholic churches in manchester town centre, them bloody bombing cathos bombing the town and having the balls to still have churches. fuckers

jodevizes · 29/08/2010 10:11

I agree Custardo. We also should not be paying for a visit by the chief woman hater who would deny us the right to choose what happens to our body, who likes to watch AIDS/HIV apread because he doesn't allow the use of condoms and says that Gay people will rot in hell, whilst turning the other way as his paedo underlings scar the life of children.

In fact, why don't we just outlaw all these weirdos who want to live their lives according to books written over 2000 years ago by a bunch of misogynist twisted men. The world will be better off without them.

OP posts:
PedlarsSpanner · 29/08/2010 10:12

I think we should outlaw folk who don't get sarcasm, hmmm?

Tortington · 29/08/2010 10:14

jodevises love, answer my post about you giving some examples.

ta chuck.

i think jo got the irony but chose to ignore it.

jodevizes · 30/08/2010 09:26

Sorry Custado, the Klingons know where I live and would come for me if I spill the beans on their locations.

'Nobody is saying that all Muslims are terrorists or are evil but the fact remains that this terrible act was done in its name.'

I suppose this wouldn't be a great time to mention that there is some doubt as to whether any muslims were involved in 9-11 at all...

Flighttattendant · 30/08/2010 09:32

the carrying out thereof, I mean - no idea how many were killed or injured.

Coolfonz · 30/08/2010 17:03

Jodevizes = BNP blogging team? Anti Muslim and anti pope of Rome?

MIFLAW · 31/08/2010 10:27

"I come from the point of view that if I go to live in another country I accept their laws and conventions and have the politeness to learn their language. If I don't like them I get the hell out."

Ironic, Jodevizes, that on the one hand you are so anti Catholicism and yet here seem to be making an impassioned plea to get the Brits out of Ireland!

I mean, this post is about our occupation of Ireland, right?

Or is it about the Brits in India?

Or China?

Ibiza?

Or ...? Oh, I give up - which one is it?

suzikettles · 31/08/2010 10:36

Where do people get all this nonsense. Is it Facebook?

mariepuree · 01/09/2010 17:41

The right wing press need to reacquaint themselves with the principles of the founding fathers. The Pilgrim Fathers wanted somewhere to practise their religionn without persecution. Hence why they left the UK. It did not stipulate that this only applied to Christians.

The Neo-Conservatives who are whooping up this hysteria claim to be Christians but their behaviour, attitudes and intentions are anything but Christian. Why don't these hyprocrites protest about the poverty in their country, schools in poor areas not having enough books and other resources, the poor without healthcare provision etc?

The right wing media in the USA are heinous liars who despise the fact that a black person is at front in the White House and not in the kitchen or sweeping the floor.

As for the Tea Party Loonatics, did anyone watch Newsnight last night? It did a report on the rally at Lincoln Memorial where these racist neanderthals hijacked Martin Luther King's "I had a dream" speech. One of the keynote speakers was later shown on cable TV saying that he does not know what has happened to the USA. It is like he has woken up to find himself on Planet of the Apes!Shock

These people are so full of hate. They want the good old days when they could call an adult black male boy.
