janitor, thats nonsense. in many many cultures around the world, removal of pubic hair, both pubes and underarm, every month, is considered normal, and part of general cleanliness. those who dont are considered slovely and dirty. the method of removal varies from scissors to waxing to plucking.
where do you think waxing, using sugar comes from? a lab?

piercing a babies ears is a zillion times worse. you are causing permanent disfiguration without consent. whereas a nine year old can make a decision to have waxing done, or not. its not something that will be forced on her.

personally i wont be taking my 9 year old to be waxed. but if my thirteen year old wants to remove the hairs on her legs, then she will be taken to a proper salon, so she can have it done professionally, rather than hack at her legs with blades.

OK badger. Go to a costume shop, buy a fake beard, cut it to shape, glue it to your inner thighs from your fanny to your knees, get your bikini on, and head out to the beach.

Then get back to me.

How ignorant, uncompassionate and judgemental.

ps you would need several fake beards actually. For each side.

pps don't forget your back

Being all righteous and saying we should walk around hairy is one thing, actually being that person is another. Some may want to live out their lives making constant political statements with how they act and live, but some of us just want to do our own thing. For some, that means walking around hairy, for others it means walking around hair free.

I quit swimming when I started growing courser hair, my sister quit dancing. As our mum has very pale hair, she rarely removed her hair so we had little exposure to it. Neither of us had much of a clue and we were far too young to take on the world and be activists against hair removal.

Having said that, I think virgin waxing is nonsense. In fact I was always under the impressing that waxing areas that don't need it actually encourages course hairs. If my daughter is teased about her hair, I will talk to her about hair removal rather than see her lock herself indoors. But I doubt I will bring it up before then.
