Do you mean a chrome extractor hood over the oven/hob?

I clean mine with Mr Muscle and a cloth with hot soapy water, then when it's dry go over it with a soft cloth with a small amount of baby oil on.

Comes up lovely and shiny with no smears.

Thanks sidge, thats exactly what I did mean. Will give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Has it got removable filters? I put mine in the dishwasher.

Ineedsomesleep · 08/07/2010 19:34

ooooh, yes it has. Will stick those in the dishwasher too.

Think that I should know all this stuff but am a bit of a slattern trying to do better.

Sidge just another quick question, is it Mr Muscle multi surface cleaner you use?

I am really crap at housekeeping aren't I?!!!

I prefer the Mr Muscle Kitchen cleaner - I find it's better on cookers etc as it's better on oily marks. I didn't really like the Multi Purpose cleaner.

(I am a saddo who quite enjoys cleaning and trying new products!! Marketing dream, me )

Ineedsomesleep · 09/07/2010 13:25

Thanks again Sidge. Will have to get some tomorrow now as I forgot to get any at the shop today.

And no, you are not a Saddo. I am the same with make up, I watch the advert and then NEED whatever they have just shown me.

Just wish I could summon up the enthusiasm for the housework.

Talking of cleaning products, what are your current favourties at the moment then?

Whilst I'm getting the Mr Muscle and a bit of a will to tackle the cleaning I might as well get some good products.

Let's see, I like Mr Muscle and Flash products; I do find them better than shop's own brands. I rarely buy label products but I do prefer these two.

I also like soda crystals for general descaling and de-gunging - I put it in the dishwasher, washing machine, down drains and plugholes.

Stardrops cleaner is great as an all-purpose cleaner.

The best glass cleaner I have found is Bohle - my mum gave me some (she buys it bulk to use in her business) and it is amazing. It's expensive though (but it does last ages, you don't need a lot).

Happy cleaning

Thanks again Sidge. We already use Stardrops and flash, have got som Mr Muscle now and will look into the glass cleaner that you recommended.
