removing sun cream stains from white clothing

Is this possible? & if so how??

My mate's just back off his jolly's & popped up to mine for an hour this afternoon which was dominated by him whineing about his fella & the fact that his new white clothes are stained with suncream.

I may not be able to solve his relationship problems, but I thought it may save me listening to the same thing again (about the clothes - he always talks about washing when I see him for some reason) the next time I see him.

Any ideas?

TIA

When you get the answer let me know. Ds's school logo polo shirts are covered and loads of dd's stuff has been ruined in the past by suncream stains.

I've even tried bleaching them.

And don't whatever youdo get it on your car paintwork or leather seats.

Oh, am mightily disappointed, but at least it's not just him!! He seems to think that only HE could get suncream on his clothes!!

Never mind, I'll turn on my selective hearing mode next time I see him for a cuppa

Soaking overnight in a mix of liquid detergent and liquid Vanish sorted my T shirts out, then hot 60 wash.

liquid detergent for washing machine or would washing up liquid do?

thanks purplepeony, I'll text him & tell him to try it

washing machine detergent- you know like Ariel or something.

i managed to fade the yellow sun cream stains on a white linen shirt, but soaking in star drops, then machine washing with more star drops and ariel. Its faded enough that it can now be worn again.

Not sure I've ever tried it on sunscreen, but hanging whites in the sun is a miracle for lots of stains. DS2's school poloshirt was "ruined" by orange juice all down the front. Couple of days hung in the window and good as new. Works on tomato sauce stains too and I'd give it a try for sun screen

At the moment my cure all for stain removal is a good soak in Napisan. No idea if it works for suncream though.

My leather chairs have been marked by the Soltan all day stuff.

I boil wash the school shirts and it comes out. Can't boil wash the leather sofa and dining room chairs, unfortunately.

Glad to read these tips. Ds's shirts look like he hasn't washed his neck for a year but i refuse to buy new this late in the term.

Purple peony do you use bio detergent? cos that works in a hot soak plus white vinegar over night.
