If you have a free standing fridge/freezer, how tall is it?

We are a family of 4. We're in the process of ordering a new fridge/freezer as we sold our last one with our house (and it was too small anyway)

We're going for a standard f/f that is 60cm wide. Dh thinks the 181cm is big enough (and bigger than we currently have in our rental house) I'm drawn towards the 2m tall one.

He thinks that is extravagant and that we'll have problems fitting it into a different kitchen.

If you have a 180cm tall f/f is it tall enough for your family?

The sad joyous things we have to deliberate over as grown-ups!

We have 18ocm freezer. Be careful you can fit it in through the door as we had to take part of the wall out to get ours in (awkward shape doorway though.

We have a 2m one and I love it. Really worth the extra cash as it enabled us to get a proper, useful sized freezer instead of a crappy little box at the bottom.

I don't think you would have problems fitting it into a new kitchen - why would you? Doorways are usually 2m tall as standard, so a kitchen ceiling must be taller than that. Also building regs stipulate a minimum of 2.3m headroom usually, so you should always have at least a foot clearance between the ff and the ceiling.

It's usually width that's the problem, not height.

We have a massive one and love it. Really big fridge and small freezer, but we're going to get another under the counter freezer when the extension is eventually finished. Don't regret the big fridge at all and wonder how we used to live without it!

On this particular make, the freezer is no bigger on the 2m tall one. The freezer stays the same size and the fridge is larger.

Does it look odd to have a fridge much bigger than the freezer below it?
