Uh oh, is my tumble drier on its way out?

Clothes are coming out boiling hot after just a few minute rather than just pleasantly warm. Is it on its way out? Is it worth having someone look at it?

Thankfully we have literally just moved from a 1st floor flat (no garden so drier essential) to a house with a garden, so drier not so desperate.

I know this sounds quite obvious ( but an intelligent friend of mine had no idea about this so I no longer presume everyone knows this )and I'm sorry but I have to ask if you've emptied the fluff filter?

Bumperlicious · 03/07/2010 15:18

I've emptied the one that is within the drum IYKWIM? There may be something else we have to empty. It's a condenser drier. It got a little bit hot a while back when one of the vents was covered up while it was in use and doesn't seem to have been the same since. I wonder if it over heated and something went wrong.

Think there may be another one you need to empty too....how long have you had it?

Oh yes there is another filter. Should be under the drum, you may have to pull the front panel off. Look it up online if you don't have the manual. You have to rinse it out in the sink, a ton of fluff and crap will come out and then your dryer will be like new!

Lucky the weather's so nice though, I haven't used my dryer in weeks and I'm American.
