ds has a little teddy and in the belly is a rice filled sack that can be warmed up. great for growing pains.
last night he was sick and it soaked through the fabric of the teddy onto the fabric of the rice filled sack. do I have to throw it away? take out the rice (don*t know if it also got sick on it)? zap it in the microwave and hope for the best? wwyd?

I would hand wash the teddy and rinse it with water with a bit of savlon/dettol added and then when dry zap it in the microwave as I don't think you can take the rice out.

I now washed the teddy in the mashine and sprayed the rice bag with vinegar. when it*s dry I will put it into the microwave and hope for the best.
to take out the rice I would have to open the bag at the seams and stitch it again after, doable but a hassle with my non-existent sewing skills.
